I'm having a lot of trouble making the bubble columns activate with soulsand. I have tried making in a 1x1 wide item elevator, a mob elevator that was 2x2 wide and so on and so forth. For some reason my setup just isn't working unless I fill the space with actual water source blocks. Is anyone having the same problem?
I think that's a feature. If it is a bug, it should've been fixed. Also, I'm gonna use soul sand for making a jacuzzi more authentic.
Yeah that will be awesome man! I'm hating that this is a feature because that would mean if you wanted to go to build height in a water elevator, you would have to manually place down every source block. That honestly makes no sense to me.
I think that's a glitch. In bedrock edition, I only had to place one water source block for my water elevator to work. So hopefully they'll fix it. It takes more time to build the water elevators when I have to collect so much water.

Yeah that's good to know it is a glitch. I feel the same way about collecting so much water.

Posting pictures of the setup as well.

Might anyone know if the bubble columns will pass through waterlogged blocks?
A specific example: Could I put down soul sand, then a half-slab above it (in either position), then waterlog it with a bucket.
Wanted to see if we could get bubbles without the obvious soul sand or magma block showing.
If you place a torch on magma blocks underwater you will get the same glitch. This wasn't a problem on any of the snapshots...

It doesn't man, I tried to do it, but maybe it might be linked to the glitch in discussion.
Yeah it really sucks when things break when they were already fixed
Thanks for all the replies guys! I guess we will have to wait for the 1.13.1 update I guess lol
