Minecraft is a wonderful game however, I feel like we, players of Minecraft deserve to be rewarded for even downloading the game as it is them (mojang) that it will benefit. All I have to say is that we will eventually get bored of the game if there is never going to be another major update.
Do you mean like the major updates they are currently working on for all major versions of the game still being supported?
The way I see it if you bought the game that entitles you to one thing: the game. You don't require nor deserve a pat on the head or warm fuzzies or some little gift because you bought something. You pay for the product and you get the product.

What do you mean by the thread?
What are you bored with that Minecraft has updates that last a long time?
Since there are Snapshots in 1.2, you have to wait some time for the final version to come out.
The 1.13 demands a lot of work for Mojang, so there is a lot of Bugs, and several things must be improved.
Although I do not think you have to wait any longer, the 1.13 will come out this month.
The 1.14 will not be bug fixes, but we will have something new...
The 1.14 will not last long, I suppose.
Minecraft is a wonderful game however, I feel like we, players of Minecraft deserve to be rewarded for even downloading the game as it is them (mojang) that it will benefit. All I have to say is that we will eventually get bored of the game if there is never going to be another major update.
Thanks mojang, Richard smith

Really? That's quite the entitled attitude you have there. And most of what you said is completely wrong!
With Minecraft we have been greatly rewarded, with many hours of fun, and many, many updates we have gotten for free. Heck, the Java edition owners even get the Windows 10 version for free. That is quite uncommon, even with software. In this day and age when most developers release pretty basic games, then charge for DLC and even online play, Minecraft is truly remarkable.
No we don't. In my case, and I know I'm not alone, I've probably had hundreds if not a couple thousand hours of entertainment from a game I only paid $26 for. You really can't beat that. Probably should feel lucky that a 9 year old game is still being updated.
If they want to keep a player base and keep earning money.
1. They need to fix the many bugs that have persisted since the very beginning of Minecraft.
They do fix bugs pretty regularly, but there are a few persistent ones that would be difficult to fix without major revisions to the game engine (which would also impact game mechanics in ways many players might not like).
Since Mojang has opted for a Buy to Play model, players can request just as much from them as subscription based games. It is neither entitled nor.. anything else. It is simply the smart thing to do if you want to continue to be successful and sell new copies.
That is, in fact, an incredibly entitled attitude.
Mojang owes you nothing except the game you bought, when you bought it. And yet they have released tons of free content since the game was first sold. Name another game that has released more content for free than Minecraft. Most games charge for new content (DLC). Heck, nowadays some games even charge separately for online play.
Part of the reason Minecraft has been so incredibly popular is Mojang keeps adding content for free.
This is not to mention that Mojang _already_ has a subscription based model as well in the form of Realms.
Not a particularly valid statement, since it's a separate service that no one is required to use. You can even download the Minecraft server software to make your very own server for free (I have my own SMP server for my family and friends).
1.13 as it stands is a very shallow content update.
It added:
Two new neutral mobs, some fish and reskinned zombie
A few new blocks (most of them just reskins)
It added new water mechanics and a buggy swimming animation that obviously (still) does not have collision even after more than 3 months of testing.
And that is about it. It pales in comparison to what over similar games add in their major releases.
That is a pretty silly statement. Release 1.13 not only has loads of new content (more than your paltry list), it's also a major code rewrite to reduce development overhead and speed up future updates, and to make it easier to add new content in the future, and they're also working a major revision of the command system, and more cross platform compatibility.
Sorry to break this life shattering news to you, but everything isn't about you.
It's literally one of the best games ever made and it's like 25$, we're basically ripping them off when we buy it...
And they also keep releasing new updates for free, they don't have to do that.
yes its just like terraria as they released in 2011 and minecraft in 2009 and terraria stopped updating in 2017 but minecraft still updates and some of the developers still work today form when minecraft was cheaper in the beta and alpha versions.

This attitude right here is why people dislike millennials. I bought this game for $20 when it came out and have gotten literally several hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of it with dozens of free updates. This game makes it possible to create entire new worlds limited only by your imagination. Games like Call of Duty charge $65 for pretty much the same game annually, and make you pay another $50 to get updates with re-skinned maps, and they get boring after 3 months. If you're bored with Minecraft, you'll never be happy. It appears that you want a new update every three days and they should mail you a check for the "honor" of you playing their lowly little game. Be sure not to trip on your cape on the way out, your highness. LOL
And they also keep releasing new updates for free, they don't have to do that.
LOLWUT? You think Adobe is the good guys here? PAID UPDATES???? I oppose any paid subscription, even if i have to pay higher. Because in the end, you "own" the product.

Yes, this is how a deal works. You buy and download the game and you benefit, and Mojang benefits from your money. This is how trade is supposed to work. It is also called a win-win situation.
All I have to say is that we will eventually get bored of the game if there is never going to be another major update.
There have been Major updates. Back when they made 1.10.2, the first of the three smaller updates, they said they would return to major updates like 1.9 and before. Heck, originally 1.14 was going to be the first major update since 1.9, but they merged 1.13 and 1.14. You're getting a new major version early.
Thanks Mojang, Richard Smith. (This line isn't necessary, use your signature for signatures instead.)
P.S.- I MEANT ALL EDITIONS
You didn't even specify exactly what you want. What qualifies as a major update? New Mobs? New redstone components? I just assumed you wanted major updates like 1.9 and before to come back, which we are already getting.

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.

I'm not sure how "code rewrites" are benefiting the game when this is happening:
Minimum Requirements:
CPU : Intel P4/NetBurst Architecture or its AMD Equivalent (AMD K7)
GPU : Intel GMA 950 or AMD Equivalent with OpenGL 1.2 Support
Recommended Requirements:
CPU : Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
GPU : GeForce 6xxx or ATI Radeon 9xxx and up with OpenGL 2 Support (Excluding Integrated Chipsets)
Minimum Requirements:
CPU: Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz / AMD A8-7600 APU 3.1 GHz or equivalent
GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series with OpenGL 4.4
Recommended Requirements:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz / AMD A10-7800 APU 3.5 GHz or equivalent
GPU: GeForce 700 Series or AMD Radeon Rx 200 Series (excluding integrated chipsets) with OpenGL 4.5
Likewise, TMCW is actually faster than vanilla 1.6.4, and far faster than current vanilla releases (e.g. worlds generate 5 times faster despite more complex world generation), despite adding a similar number of features since they diverged after 1.6.4 (I consider TMCW to be a separate branch of the vanilla game, not just a mod; saying that it is based on 1.6.4 is like saying that 1.13 is based on it); the code in current vanilla versions is far from "simplified and easier to maintain":
The old Notch code was straightforward and relatively easy to follow. The new rendering system is an over-engineered monster full of factories, builders, bakeries, baked items, managers, dispatchers, states, enums and layers. Object allocation is rampant, small objects are allocated like there is no tomorrow. No wonder that the garbage collector has to work so hard.
"Over-engineered monster" also applies to the rest of the code, which from what I've seen of it is much harder to follow due to all the aforementioned wrappers, layers, getters/setters, and so on (I provided an actual example here, and that isn't the worst); did you know that the size of the Minecraft jar increased by 5.6 MB between 1.12.2 and the latest pre-release - which is more than the entire size of 1.7.10 (which itself is only 500 KB larger than 1.6.4, which in turn is actual smaller than 1.5.2 or 1.4.7) - and they have certainly NOT added more features to 1.13 than existed in 1.7.10! This exponential bloat in size and resource requirements started in 1.8 and has only worsened since then:
(TMCWv5 will be by far the biggest update in the history of TMCW, adding as many new features as multiple major vanilla updates yet is only about 0.5 MB larger than its predecessor. I also included my personal modded version of Optifine for good measure, offset by deleting META-INF)
Meanwhile, the developer of Fastcraft claims to have surpassed Bedrock in performance without the compromises that Bedrock has like a reduced ticking area or reduced detail in distant chunks - yes, on Java (the days when Java performed much worse than other languages, largely because it was entirely interpreted, are long gone; the biggest issue is that it relies on a garbage collector) - this is exactly the sort of thing that Mojang should do before adding new content (of course, many people will just complain that they aren't actually adding new content - yet as can be seen above modders regularly add far more content and even fix the game in the process; Mojang has also stated that they will likely never add a mod API to Java so all their internal rewrites in preparation for one (the stated reason that I've seen before) are for nothing).
Agreed. Even when people thought the Update Aquatic was good. The content is still lacking. Like the threats found in the Oceans are pushovers compared to the surface and other dimensions. I was expecting some more threats than a crappy reskin of the zombie that can wield a trident. Much of the ocean is still barren, and doesn’t have much going for it in terms of wildlife or danger, making it seem like the entire focus of the Update was mainly on coral reefs and making them look pretty. Jeb has said that they were going to add a load of more mobs instead of the few we got, but they weren't doing it simpl because they're just lazy enough t do it.
Richard Smith, which version was it that you were talking about? Of all versions, most have got or are getting 1.13, which is pretty major for codeheads and water lovers, plus the very real challenge of phantoms.
I disagree with regular content updates for java edition, if youre bored just use mods!
But that sort of thing (regular updates) is what makes Minecraft still afloat. Since its inception, Mojang has done many, many updates. If you look back at 1.0 it looks like an entirely different version (that's why some people complaining about 1.10). Mods are nice, the community is getting more mature (looking at you, CrazyCraft!), but it's different universe. Some people consider playing vanilla-only, many don't enjoy modded.
