But their (idiotic) logic was that they didn't want people interacting with sharks more IRL because they added them to the game. What then is their excuse for encouraging players to hang out by sea turtles?
If they're going to be idiots and deny the playerbase content that is near-unanimously desired, at least be consistent.
Because there likely was a different reason behind not adding sharks, such as being an insanely bland choice of a hostile mob or sharks not being particularly agressive IRL, or a lack of possible drops from sharks (Apart from shark fins, which pop up often in suggestions as an ingredient for shark fin soup, with all the problems all soup-like foods already in-game have; or teeth that are usually part of a suggestion for some weapon that is rarely different enough from swords to be worth using) , and the "Sharks are endangered" "reasoning" was a joke too many people took seriously even through the way it was stated pretty much made it blatant that it wasn't a serious reason behind that.
I agree, another thing i've thought about is besides spiders and silverfish, there are no other real-life hostile mobs in the game, it would be rather out of theme to add them.
Sharks in my opinion don't feel minecrafty but a fantasy mob, maybe shark-inspired feels more minecrafty to me.
Hello everyone! I found some leaks/secrets for the new update. I won't add them to the post yet, though, until they are confirmed by the developers or appear in a snapshot. Here is a cool video by an awesome YouTuber Xisumavoid:
I hope they're working fixing bugs as well adding new contents.
I would be disappointed if no serious bugs are fixed after two weeks.
They've been away from office for a convention for the last few weeks. That's why there have been no snapshots. We'll most likely get one next week though.
I don't know if this is not exactly a new feature or not, but I mainly play on 1.7.10, but it seems suspicious none the less.
I wanted to burn some leaves in a roofed forest. Simple, right? After all, fire spreads fairly slowly, at least in my humble playing experience. However, by setting no more than 5 blocks on fire, I started a raging inferno. Seriously, the fire spreads like wildfire. (Bad pun, but oh so appropriate.)
Worse, I'm now standing in a clearing with nothing but grassy ground - and lots of fire around me. The fire doesn't burn out any more, it just continues burning. Really, it's like the whole ground has been replaced with nether rack. Unless, of course, it rains. In which case the fire that is not protected from the rain (by a roof of any kind, natural or not) gets extinguished.
This is so weird... I used to try and burn down a couple of trees in 1.7.10, and ended up taking them down manually because it was faster - and now this. XD
ETA: Okay, putting a single fire on a grass block somewhere, it did stop burning eventually. But that world on fire I accidentally created - nope. Maybe that was a bug?
They need to address their current snapshot with the drowned. I actually preferred them not being there. If anything, perhaps they should consider leaving them below a certain depth. I commented on the bug report filed, sent two crash reports on two different saves, two different days but same hardware. Another thing to note for macOS users. I noticed a major performance hit with 1920x1080 on 10.12.6, Core i7 2.3Ghz with Intel HD4000. I used to be able to run minimal resource packs of 32 or 64 and even low end shaders. Now I have to turn them off entirely. The FPS is still usually at 60 or more but it appears chunks are taking a very long time to load, even in vanilla Minecraft snapshots since 10w.
*** Additional note, I am also running Thunderbolt 2 to LG Ultrawide display without issues. The game doesn't run in 4 to 5k res, but 1080p yes. ***

or lead an existent adult turtle?
I hope we can breed the tropical fish to create our own kind of look.
The quickest way to my heart is with a smile.
Oh, and a white-oak stake.

Plus it's not like Minecraft spiders and silverfish are at all like their real-life counterparts .
Because its a play on the expression 'the life aquatic'
Hey, at least they announced the new ocean mob. But, why even add shipwrecks WITHOUT dolphins!?
Calm you must have. They took some time to add shipwrecks in the snapshot and people were complaining some days ago.
I think you got the ocean ruins loot swapped with the buried treasure loot..
why has no one posted a reply for about month?!

Check out my suggestions! Here is one of them:

Two weeks for not a single update.

Has anyone tested if there's any interaction between a 'bucket of fish' and dispensers?

They call it update aquatic because it sounds cooler than aquatic update. Kinda like how operation dig sounds better than dig operation
