I like them. I feel like a lot of things needed to be fine-tuned, and they've gone beyond my expectations.
You are certainly not the only one. I really love them as well! Not because I think the previous ones were bad, but more because I like change.
We can explore new combinations and make totally different builds compared to the current textures.
There is already another thread for discussing the texture pack changes that Mojang is proposing:
