So I've been slowly steering towards more irl subjects than Minecraft, however I came back to the thought on when they will update the game. I was surprised to see it still sitting at 1.12 after a relatively long absence. Anyone got some new information to share with me regarding 1.13 or nah?

1.13 is an upcoming update, the update is going to focus on bug fixing, rewriting the commands(which will destroy the maps), and optimization.
I've seen jack all for news of upcoming stuff in 1.13 as of recent. I assume this is because they're ironing out the Bedrock/BT edition. Although I've been out of touch in some cases, as I frankly, like Geneo, don't touch Minecraft much anymore nowadays except for modpacks.
Dinnerbone said on Twitter yesterday that snapshots for 1.13 might start next week.

The World of Color update (1.12) is just over 4 months old...
Why do people have zero patience nowadays...
Personally I'd rather have the game update at a somewhat slower; it would break mods and servers less often. Right now mods and servers are scattered all over 1.7, 1.8 (due to the old PvP mechanic), 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12. Back in 1.7, most things were either in 1.6 or 1.7, with a few in 1.5 or 1.4 (but not nearly as scattered as currently). A creativity-based game like Minecraft shouldn't have to rely on updates every few months just to sustain people's interest.

Figured it was time for a change.

Just remember that it was almost 7 months between the release of 1.11 and 1.12. By contrast, it has only been 4 1/2 months since 1.12 came out.
