The moving and wood collecting pretty much happened on it's own.:) I should have been more specific since I'm slightly off topic. I was referring to the Recipe Book notifications. They appear for every item with a recipe, seem to appear for each color of an item, restart on every new world and appear in creative mode. Like others I find notifications more annoying then useful and agree there should be some options for controlling them.
I don't want a "NEW RECIPE" thing popping up every time touch something or go onto a "new" server. Its ridiculous. As for mojang owning it and being able to do what they want they are making this game for people and not for themselves.
HEAR THAT MOJANG? MAYBE LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY FOR ONCE.
Just do what it says after u have done it it should disappear and your done unless you still have things to do just do what they say and they should go
Yeah, I find them super annoying and would also like a way to turn them off! Why should everyone be treated like we're 10 year old's every time we start a new world? I think the new system is ok for newer players but there should be a way to turn it off for older players, it feels patronising when I cant turn it off, same with the new crafting guide thing.
Been playing Minecraft since the beta and I have to say that the latest updates, in my opinion, seem to simplify the game too much, so not a big fan of versions past 1.7.10 now. While I understand that it helps newer players i think there should be an option to revert to the old achievements or turn the feature off completely.
The one problem I have noticed with the tutorial tips is if you switch versions say to play on 1.8 for something and then switch back to 1.12 it resets and makes you re-do the tutorial which is a pain especially on say a kitpvp server where you can't break any wood. Plus it makes you do the tutorial for every server you join and resets every time you switch versions, at least from my experience. I would love for them to add a disable tutorial button so people who know what they are doing can remove it and people who are new can learn.

I just never play minecraft versions past 1.8 and its never an issue. New minecraft versions are a joke just like the console versions.

Do you use the same directory for 1.8 and 1.12?
