Two curses added: the Curse of Binding (Enchantment ID 10) and the Curse of Vanishing (Enchantment ID 71).
Curse of Binding will bind the item to you, making you unable to drop it or take take it off if it is an armor item, although it will drop when you die.
Players in Creative mode are unaffected by this curse.
Curse of Vanishing will make the item disappear if you die. /gamerule keepInventory true will prevent this.
Cursed tools and armor can be found as loot in some generated structures.
Changed the title and description of "Snooper Settings"
Brings it into line with the new privacy policy[5][/sup]
Title is now "Feed us data!" instead of "Machine Specs Collection"
Description is now "We always want to improve Minecraft and, to help us do that, we'd like to collect some information. This lets us know what hardware to support and where the big problems are. It also gives us a sense of the size of our active player base, so we know if we're doing a good job. You can view all the information we collect below. If you want to opt out then you can simply toggle it off!"
Entity IDs, block entity IDs, block IDs and item IDs
Now are no longer case sensitive.
Autocomplete will put in lowercase letters.
Entity and block entity IDs
Use underscores to separate words, rather than using single words in mixed case.
Optionally, a minecraft: namespace prefix can be used, just like block and item IDs. However, it is not optional for EntityTags and spawners.[6][/sup]
Horse was split into entity IDs horse, donkey, mule, skeleton_horse and zombie_horse for their respective types.
Skeleton was split into entity IDs skeleton, stray and wither_skeleton.
Zombie was split into entity IDs zombie, zombie_villager and husk.
Guardian was split into entity IDs guardian and elder_guardian.
Donkey, mule, husk and zombie villager now each draw from their own loot tables, rather than drawing from the horse and zombie loot tables, respectively.
Potions that have missing or invalid potion-effect tags now default to the Uncraftable Potion, which now has no glint, and is now magenta in color.
This also applies to lingering potions, splash potions and tipped arrows.
Due to the water bottle without tags being changed to uncraftable potion, the brewing icon is also changed to uncraftable potion in the creative inventory.
Lightning storm will now attract less skeleton horses
Personally can't say if they were too common or not considering the last time I remember having a thunderstorm in game was like years ago, but I feel many people will be excited for this.
All the new "Features" sound very wonderful. Nothing too major, but enough to continue and make the game feel whole.
Those new spawn eggs and hunger changes sound very tastywonderful as well.
I'm betting any snapshots will just be bug fixing and adding in old intended features everyone already knows about and that they are purposely keeping all the juicy new stuff out until Minecon. Still it's nice to have some fixes in the meantime and those fixes can get play tested.
Still no stained clay slabs and stairs? Is Mojang even adding new blocks or is it just a combat game now?
As a matter of fact, they are adding new blocks. 1.10 added a handful of new blocks and introduced one of the biggest map maker features yet, the structure block which basically promotes building and makes building easier by like 200%. All while adding and changing exactly 0 combat related things.
1.11 is most likely not going to get any true content until Minecon (Sometime September) so don't be so hasty to judge it. The snapshots are just mostly going to be bug fixes and minor tweaks as the developers have both hinted and directly stated multiple times.
Will commands like setblock rotate states inside command_blocks in rotated structure_blocks?
e.g. assume I have a setblock ~4 ~3 ~2 minecraft:torch facing=north command in a command_block. assume I have the command_block in a house, and I place the house rotated 180 degrees. Will the command be changed? facing=south and ~-4 ~3 ~-2
In the release, as tested no.
Also one can use both a data value and a tag.
/setblock ~ ~ ~ wool 12 color=blue places a red wool.
Largest file loaded is 90K commands from a command_block.
Lasted Updated Aug 7 2016 ... 1.9 to 1.10.2 Also the BlockDumpMod gives blockdump command which writes blocks to a text file as execute setblock commands or gives a report.

Unfortunately I do not think that's how they work. I'm not entirely sure, though.
Edit: Not 100% confirmed for 1.11, but still very, very exciting news.

None of that is final or in any release, but check out Minecon to see what you can do with that blurb of code
There was also a tweet related to maps, but again wasn't exactly confirmed for 1.11

A tiny new feature, different biomes have different colors on maps!
(Also he stated there's a bug in the image, can you find it?)
IIRC Tommaso mostly does PE content only, so I am unsure if these tweets are also related to PC, however I feel it'd make more sense for it to be on PC, and Mojang wants all versions to be on par with eachother, so that's why I still felt it was important to show this off.
Bonus one; not any new info, but maybe important

By the way, I don't work directly on many things I tweet (like the maps and the JSON skeleton) but the authors don't have twitter!
And in 11.0 unrelated news, Oculus Rift support will be released next week for the VR edition (Or whatever version that has VR support, I'm not too sure how that works)
People, this thread is for discussing information confirmed as coming from Mojang. Wish lists/suggestions or information from non-confirmed sources shouldn't be posted in this thread.
Welp, we'll just have to wait and see what Minecon holds. Curious to see how it develops. Hopefully less mapmaking and constant resource pack changing, and more survival and creative improvements.

There will be news about the API at Minecon. I'll talk about the things I'm working on and what our plans are. But no more details for now.
It's finally coming. I'm guessing 1.11-1.14 are all going to have features related to the modding API, which after all these years is just absolutely amazing.
Mojang your always updating ... so it affects modding and modders greatly don't you think its time to release an official modding suite with minecraft? The Binding of Issac is releasing Afterbirth + and they are giving users an official modding api ... they have been out for way less time than you and its very insulting that you have yet to release an official api. Also what happened to making a modding api in c++ for minecraft? No more features just fixes and a modding api that is what minecraft needs!

Don't ever remember the whole C++ API or whatever, but pocket edition/Windows 10 edition (Most likely) is going to have API news during Minecon. Which is basically the C++ API you mentioned.
I do see how lack of API is a bit insulting, but not for the reasons you stated. Just because a game has one thing does not mean another should. CoD has guns, Kingdome hearts have blades shaped like keys and shadow creatures. Terraria has... Well a bunch of random stuff, all which wouldn't fit Minecraft at all.
Pocket Edition is getting an API, so logically PC edition will follow suite. Probably not 1.11, though. Recent Tweets kind of vaguely hints PC isn't getting an API for at least a short while, but the tweets are generally a bit confusing and vague in their entire meaning, but yes, we're finally getting the API, soon eventually. But I have to disagree it's "Finally time". That would imply that we are entitled to such a thing, but we aren't.

Also MC-105560 and MC-93648 were fixed
Wow, 1.9 and 1.10 already came out this year. Mojang must be fired up to pump out a 3rd update. Wonder when new features will come around.
Personally can't say if they were too common or not considering the last time I remember having a thunderstorm in game was like years ago, but I feel many people will be excited for this.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
Creepers do explode into lingering effect (it wasn't mentioned in the changelog, found via a test)
MC-4 isn't fully fixed =(
koi9000jh, TheFearlessPlayer has "managed the 1.9 and 1.10 news topics" and he updated them regularly. Moderators trust him.
I tried riding a wild mule in the snapshot the game randomly closed when I right clicked it.
Game just crashed. Fixed for the next snapshot (MC-105956)
Like Suncat2000 said the mods trust Fearless with these types of threads. Also there was a thread before yours but it was 1.10 news and update.
Now since the first snapshot is out he changed it.

Writes the CommandRunnerMod which gives the executefile command to read commands from a file. http://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/246088-commandrunnermod

Wow, I've never heard about the data-driven entities before. That sounds really exciting. We'll be able to do so much with that.

Figured it was time for a change.

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.
