Accusing me of complaining now. That's awful, dude.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Can somebody explain why the damned balls it says on the Minecraft Wiki that 1.10 is a major update?
Because there's new content. You know, the existence of new playable content being the only thing that has ever distinguished between Minecraft's major and minor updates.
We've already gone through what you need to do. Play 1.9 until 1.14 comes out for the proper experience of a 'major' update with the proper wait time.

Alright, I definitely did not have a complaint before about anything, but now I do. It's with Gamelord and O'crappy.
You two are COMPLETELY not understanding what I have to say. This has nothing to do with what I think about the update. I actually LIKE 1.10 and how it has come so quickly. Fast updates like this could be the key to fulfilling my wish to have been part of something similar to the old Secret Friday Updates that I never got to experience. It's about the fact that the terminology "Major Update" looks completely unrepresentative of what 1.10 was. My initial concept of the term "Major Update" was that hey, maybe it's called "MAJOR" because there's a lot of stuff in it. It kind of fits that something would be called Major Update because it changed or added a lot, like the Adventure Update.
Suddenly, in the most painful and annoying way possible, I'm starting to wonder if it's just called major because the update came out after the full release. Of course, somebody could have just explained that to me instead of jumping straight into the ol' circlejerk o' Minecraft community.

That's basically why it's called that.
Any version update that changes the base number, well the second number. (Ex: 1.9, 1.10, 1.11) will be considered a Major update.
There was a tweet about waiting until 1.14(?) to get the 'full major update' you're thinking of that's probably going to be around the size of 1.8/1.9

I didn't even do anything. I just disagreed with you. This is getting rather flame-bait-y rather quickly.

No, it's just called major because it has new content. That's is the factual reason. And I just explained that to you. I wasn't even close to flaming you or insulting you at all. It is a major update by the definition of major update.

It isn't a major update because the second digit changes. The second digit changes because it's a major update.
And they call it a major update when there is new playable content.
Worldsshrugged, I really don't get where you think I've been rude or somehow not explained this to you. I made the reason very clear, but you act like I'm holding back from giving you a straight answer just to insult you or something.

What's the point of a zombie village if there are no doors? All the zombie villagers are free to wander around (and since they aren't specially spawned I assume they could just despawn anyways) and by longstanding player-conditioning it's very likely you're going to be finding these things during the day...when zombies naturally burn.

It's supposed to be that way. It's a village that's been ravaged by zombies and is now dead. The lack of doors give it more of a ruins feel.

The Zombie villagers dont despawn in said village, they most of the time will keep seeking shelter in the dark houses...
well this update was disappointing. Polar bears: cool but useless. "New" skeletons and zombies: just reskinned with effects added to them. Red nether brick: nether brick was already red. that's the equivalent of "wet water". Nether wart block: meh, I've always wanted a block like this, but it's still nothing genius. Fossils: WOULD be cool, but it's just another white decor block (we already have those) and only spawn in certain biomes, limiting availability. Abandoned mineshaft generation: meh. aren't hard to find in the first place, so making them more readily available in mesas in pointless. New villlages: ok, but again, weren't hard to find in the first place, and different wood variant composition doesn't do much.
Now all that's out of the way, Good features: Magma blocks.

That's it. Magma blocks.
Honestly, if this update were purely Magma blocks I would still be very satisfied with it. Magma blocks greatly simplify mob farms and they're reasonably difficult to obtain.
Aside form the Magma blocks, aesthetic improvements are always welcome imo. I like the addition of Polar Bears because they and Strays discourage early exploration of the snow biomes where players could otherwise get early brewing stands and other great items for free. Meanwhile Husks protect the Deserts where players can find Desert Temples which contain a large amount of loot.

This is a test, this is only a test.
boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
I haven't really been following this thread, so sorry, if this has already been asked, but is it normal, that Taiga villages doesn't have villagers or doors on the doorways in them? Not that I would be annoyed about not having them villagers around, since all the crops are mine now, but it just puzzles me.
Now Zombie villages can generate instead of normal villages. Zombie villages have no doors and there are only zombie villagers (they can't despawn now, but could in 16w20a-21a) in them. They have 2% chance to generate. Try to find another Taiga village, it should be normal (if not, than that's something wrong with the randomness of the generator)

Ah. That's why. Also didn't have any zombie villagers in it, due to fact, that I had changed difficulty to peaceful due to double cave spider spawner, and forgot to change it back to either normal or hard mode. (Whopsie)

I like aesthetic blocks too, but here's the thing, pretty much the only aesthetic blocks added were bone and the nether wart blocks. Bone is just an aesthetic block, which isn't bad, but it's white. And we already have plenty of white aesthetic blocks. And the "red nether brick" is pointless, because it's not really much different than regular nether brick, and, again, we already have about 100 red blocks. I'd like to see more black, blue, yellow (not sandstone yellow, actual yellow), and green aesthetic blocks.
And we already have plenty of white aesthetic blocks.
Just 2 was annoying.
Wool: Weak, susceptible to fire and creepers, and a pain to get en mass if you don't have a massive sheep farm. Also requires shears.
Nether quartz: Sought after and non-renewable.
Bone blocks are very nice, giving me a use for all that bone that's been piling up in my chests, it's renewable, not vulnerable to fire, and doesn't require shears. Great if you have a mob farm.
Accusing me of complaining now. That's awful, dude.

Yeah the zombie AI seems pretty good at finding shelter - unless they see you and decide to attack.
