It has some bug fixes. The bug fixes are still pouring in. It means that 1.9, which is scheduled to be released on Monday Feb. 29, will not likely be stable. What do you think? Would you upgrade to 1.9?

I'm planning on starting a new world so if it bugs out I'll just start another after it stabilizes.
As to the question in the title, I've no idea, I haven't played the snapshots or pre-releases and am trying to avoid finding out too much about what's changing so hopefully there will be a few suprises left when I play the final release.
If i was to play the pre-release would my save games from the pre-release work with the 1.9 update?
Also if i was to do the above will my world be missing anything from a generation point of view between the pre-release and the update?
Yes, your save games from pre-release will work in the 1.9 update.
And no, I don't think that there would be anything missing from a generation point of view, as these pre-releases are pretty much the last bug fixes for the full 1.9 release.
But good news is, that they have fixed the monster spawner bug, and my skeleton grinder works now at full steam!
Like 1.8, I won't be updating for a few months following the release. It's for the same reason I haven't yet upgraded to Windows 10. I want to allow the release to stabilize before I jump into it prematurely. Well, that and what I plan to do with 1.9 changes can wait. Have I been looking forward to it? Hell yes. But after waiting 1.5 years (7 months if you only consider when the snapshots started - I didn't update to any of them), can I wait a couple more months? Absolutely.
I never usually update right away on anything, actually.

LP series? Not my style! Video series? Closer, but not quite. Survival journal, maybe? That's better. Now in Season 4 of the Legends of Quintropolis Journal (<< click to view)!! World download and more can be found there.
Just a reminder, this thread is for posting comments about the 1.9pre3 release, not for posting general comments about Mojang or its future development practices.
