Meh, it's just a port of Minecraft:PocketEdition, I see no point in playing that on a PC unless you're wanting to play with someone on a phone or tablet.

"If you don't understand the bigger picture, writitng a program is difficult. That's true with any computer programming language, not just java. If you're typing code without knowing what it's about, and the code doesn't do exactly what you want it to do, then your just plain stuck." - Dr Burd

We saw it too, many weeks before any 1.9 snapshot was released. Shaders are being written directly into Minecraft, making OpenGL entirely moot.
Kinda sorta not really.
Shaders are just programs that your GPU executes to either construct or alter an image (depending on what sort of rendering pipeline is used, forward or deferred). Both OpenGL and DirectX use shaders, and either use different languages (OpenGL uses GLSL or OpenGL Shading Language, DirectX uses HLSL or High-Level Shading Language, and to my knowledge Cg, or C for Graphics, can also be used with DirectX). OpenGL is just a hardware interface standard, alongside DirectX, and it supports shaders and has for several years. The game will still use OpenGL when it moves to shaders.

It's okay, but its kinda like a new update for MCPE
It's not an update, it is MCPE, but Win10 version. For some people with a Windows tablet, like me, we now have Minecraft PE. That's all, nothing more, exactly the same plain and simple....
Any downloaded the Windows 10 beta version yet? Thoughts?

It's ok but it's basically PE version and I prefer PC version.
I can see the writing on the wall.
More and more people will be forced to use Win10E because their old hardware running Win 10 won't have Open GL drivers.

i got it but thats because i was forced to because someone updated the computer im using to windows 10 and i can't play minecraft without it.
I got windows 10 on the first day it was released. I have been liking it but there are some bugs and the boot time takes for ever.
I have a 128 SSD for my operating system and it still takes a minute or 2. :/
I don't always mod, but when I do, I prefer Java
Mod safely my friends.
