50% of all people on every server are PvPers and they think "OMG freakin 1.9 comed out now how should i kill this noobster". I mostly like wings even if they are bugged
i don't understand why a lot of people are whining about 1.9 PVP, minecraft wasn't designed as a pvp game, it's a mining and crafting game. if anything, multiplayer and PVP were an afterthought
update is terrible turning the game in to a game like leauge, runescape played longer then most people here i gotta say worst update ever. my friends and i have quit and wont be back until it is removed.

Sure, go ahead and quit the game until all of the skill is removed, which will never happen.
Add me to the list of haters of 1.9. I've skimmed some of the reasons and I'll add a one I didn't see (it's probably in there.)
I play survival on a local server. Sometimes solo, sometimes with a couple others.
The time to accomplish things has gone up dramatically. We have to be more careful at night and especially in the Nether. We need more arrows than before. I finally get a couple blaze spawners shut down, explore the fortress, no wart. Huh. Now I have to find another fortress. But I need all those arrows and snowballs again. Grind, grind, grind.
I'm not sure how long it will be before we get to things like a wither skeleton or the End.
So summary: time to accomplish things in the game has increased to the point where enjoyment has decreased due to grinding/preparation.
I was fine with 1.9 until I find out about the PVP things. The blocks are cool and all but I HATE THE PVP. Minecraft must remove it or I'm never updating mc ever until I have to.

Personally, I would like it if in 1.9.1 the armor and wapons where to be set back to the normal damage, and that the charge option either way gets removed from swords/axes and placed to a whole new wapon, or gets removed in general, because, for gods sake, all server based on pvp that upgraded to 1.9 are either way dying, or the owner of the server used a plugin to remove those himself.
those servers have already announced that they wont be upgrading to a update which is going to remove the whole purpose of their server.
Mojang could make cool down and or sweep an option with virtually no work, they could do it overnight!
What truly amazes me is the response from the rabid PVP crowd of how horrible this option would be when it would not affect them at all. Somehow, shoving these idiotic, non intuitive, changes down the throats of probably 70% to 80% of the minecraft playing population that either, don't want it, don't care, or don't even understand what's going on, is better than giving us an option button with a server override to force all players to play the same on their particular little server.
An option is the only smart and logical response. Everyone gets what they want and you don't begin limiting the game to only skilled players or only players with some arbitrary level of armor.
Mojang could do a quickie poll in a heartbeat with their launcher system that would capture probably 75% to 95% of all the players as opposed the the overly PVP populated forums like this one and Redit.

I do not really hate 1.9 in and of itself, but what I do hate is there is no choice if I want to use the new combat or not. The only "choice" is to not update but that is not an honest choice. There isn't even a mod choice to change the combat like there was for PVPers before this point, granted 1.9 has not been out long enough to have mods ready to go so that can be forgiven (for now).
Also, like most game companies, they will listen to the vocal minority when doing updates or features to a game, this can be good and bad at the sametime. It can be good as it brings in the occasional fresh idea that the developers may not have thought of before, but it can be bad as it can take the game in a direction that the games original intent was not going for and alienate those players who are not overly vocal. I know Minecraft builders have been wanting more block options (as we only have two cobble stonewall options but at least eight different stone types) to make building more dynamic, and yet we get a purple (I refuse to call it by name) block that you can only get in the end.
I'm not even sure where you get these numbers from. For all I know it's all biased. But more to the point, if you now want to be heard by Mojang you should try to take it to Reddit since they spend most of their time gathering feedback from there.
I"m guessing! But you tell me. Give me a logical assessment of how many of the millions of minecraft PC players never play PVP. How many never even play on a server and only play single player? How many play on a server but never play PVP? I would bet that maybe 10% or less of the total community play PVP on any kind of a regular basis.
My point is that the launcher system calls home every time you start minecraft. If you have an internet connection it authenticates your account. At this point the system could pop up a quickie 30 second survey. When you think about how nearly everybody has some internet connection available on their machine, I'm throwing out a guess that mojang is capable of reaching 75% to 95% of it's active players every time they play. I don't know how many more are playing single player offline, but I'm betting its a pretty low percent.
As for your Reddit comment. I'd never heard of Reddit before a week ago when somebody threw out a Reddit reference just like you did. So think really hard about what you just implied. Mojang only listens to a rabidly PVP based group of multi players to guide it's development. How many of the millions of rank and file players like myself, that have been playing 3, 4, 5 years, even know that Reddit exists?

The really bad thing about it is the plants don't exist on the main End island. You have to kill the Ender Dragon to create the portal so you can jump to another island to get the plants and flowers. If the plants were on the main island you could take an enderchest, a pick and cheap armor, go to the end, quickly mine some endstone to plant on, set your enderchest, run out and get 1 or 2 flowers to plant, throw all your stuff in the enderchest and just go get yourself killed or bring a bow and fight the dragon for a while. Back on the overworld you could set up your farm and make all the purple stone you wanted. I have a farm set up and have produced a couple chests of the stone and don't quite know what I want to build with it yet

My point exactly as we have three stone types (plus their polished counter parts) that have have no stair or slab (wall or way to join them together to make a new block) making them basically an inventory filler. I would love to see maybe a way to make marble by have those three plus normal stone block in a 2*2 pattern, it would net you 4 marble blocks and that marble block could be made into stairs, slabs, or combined in a 2*2 pattern to make chiseled marble brick that could be used for walls (like a cobble wall pattern). Also another feature that needs to be in game is clear and connected glass blocks/panes, the lines on glass are just obtrusive and make windows look horrid.
I'm well aware that not everyone uses PvP, but that doesn't mean that those who don't automatically dislikes the combat changes.
As for Reddit I meant that you could take that launcher survey advice of yours there since they spend most of their time there. It actually surprises me that you haven't heard of Reddit before a week ago since it's as big as social media sites like Twitter.
I'm a dinosaur pushing 60. Although I theoretically have a facebook account I rarely go there. I don't have twitter or instagram, etc. accounts. I play minecraft and come to this forum to complain when the developers do something really idiotic like cool down.

Glass problem can be easily fixed with a resource pack and optifine (for connected)

Server? I'm talking about Singleplayer.

You say don't update like it's easy. All of the servers will update eventually and then there's no choice. It's not like there's an option.
