So, for all those people wondering Why the Heck Mojang made Win10 edition, it was for one reason: so people can cross-play from pc to mobile. This thread is to discuss Win10 edition. (also, forum admin people, you guys should make a section for win10 edition)
Does anyone know if we'll eventually be able to play with xbox friends through this? that would be awesome
It's not on their agenda right now. But with DX12 it is technically possible. That being said the feature gap between the two versions would need to close significantly.

Yea I figured they'd release the windows 10 game onto the consoles instead of overloading PE and windows 10 edition. Looks like i need some PE friends
So, I need three accounts to get the game now: Mojang to get the code, Microsoft to get the game and XBox to get to play... I mean, think about it with a clear, human mind: that's pretty odd, isn't it?
Maybe I'm nostalgic, but when I was a kid, you didn't need any account at all to play a game, even not if it was free. And the normal Minecraft PC version itself is also doing pretty fine with only your Mojang account and a simple download link. So it is still possible.
That's why I have a small hate towards the professional gaming industrie nowadays, because of that terrible bureaucracy, where you can't even anonymously buy and play a game anymore, or can't sometimes even play without internet.
As if you are untrustworthy scum by buying your games fairly...
I'm pretty sure a microsoft and xbox account are the same thing
Since my laptop is pretty crappy, the maximum view distance in PC Version is 6 Chunks without major lag. Now, I'm very happy to see that I can set distance to max and it's not lagging at all - pretty awesome! I have almost forgotten how beautiful exploring is in Minecraft
But one question: It seems my Ingame-name has changed. Before it was "xxLordHypnos", now it's "StraußTinte638" - does anyone experience something similiar? And how can I change it? It's not ultra annoying - unless you decide to play multiplayer
Oh - and mods? Will it be possible?

There's a block? Break it. There's a creeper? Slay it. There's a diamond? Get it!
Personally I hate Microsoft, so I know they're going to jack everything up. I hate XBOX and I hate all their new OS's (even though I use them anyways, it can be helpful to have a common OS). Nonetheless, they only make money because they're already big, if they tried all this stupid crap when they were smaller they wouldn't be a company anymore.

You can go to the homepage of Xbox Live. There you can log in and change your username once for free. After that, you must relog and if you then restart the game, it should then use the changed username. Ingame, you can also change your skin.
My first impression is indeed that it is a decent "Minecraft light" for those who haven't a powerful enough CPU to run the normal Minecraft, or for those who want the game more simple again like back in the days, but still with some of the new important stuff.
However, the terrain is (currently) also more flat again, just like in Minecraft 1.0, except for the extreme hills and those crazy savannah mountains.
I can't say that I've noticed it being more flat. But is it just me or do biomes blend together much better than on the PC version? Maybe it's not that but something just seems a lot nicer about the terrain generation.

Not sure, but once Windows 10 releases on Xbox One it's a possibility as long as the console doesn't have any exclusive libraries / technology that PC does not.
Does anyone know if you can play with people using the normal PC/Mac edition online?
Also I had heard windows 10 edition had less features than the normal PC/Mac edition, because it is a port of pocket edition. Is that true?
No, you cannot play with people using the Windows 10 edition, or Pocket Edition, using the ordinary PC edition. Read my below response to Xilioth for why.
So you can play with PC people, and mobile in the same time? Awesome!
Sort of. If you're playing the Windows 10 edition on a PC, you theoretically can. If you're playing the ordinary PC edition, you cannot though. The games work differently in terms of multiplayer (so much so that rumour has it Win10 edition will only support up to 8 players, no matter the platform, I don't believe this is the case though).

Modding on console is technologically impossible without great risks and illegalities. Read this file for why.

Apparently, xBox Live is a requirement. I'm not sure, as far as I know it's a rumor.

It's a port of PE. PE has mods so the answer is probably yes.
Please don't PM me asking for help, I will just redirect you to the appropriate forum, where there are others who are far more skilled than me.

Worlds look flat because the height limit is still 128. They might be missing the X-hills technical biomes too.
