Basically forests should naturally generate giant trees again, as they used to do before Jeb turned them off 2 years ago. If you started playing Minecraft less than 2 years ago, by "giant" I mean the large trees you can still find here and there in X-Hills and Jungles, not Fantasy-large trees.
Well then. I actually didn't notice that they didn't generate. Go me and my ever so excellent attention span... Now personal sarcasm aside, it's good to hear it got fixed! Though, was it really 2 years ago?

I'm excited to see their return. The forests were just a little too uniform without them.
Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference. For example I'm really excited about them finally removing the water flowing animation when water is next to glass.

Very nice! The Forest biomes feel so boring and dull without these occasional big trees. I have been hoping for their return!
Some interesting things in 15w44b. According to the Wiki: it made end rods, ender crystals and tipped arrow craftable, and enchanted golden apples aka Notch apples uncraftable.
Basically you need End and Nether stuff to make those items, where ender crystals are no longer dropped by skeleton horses. Especially the tipped arrow has an interesting crafting recipe: shoot normal arrows into clouds made by lingering potions. Pretty clever, I have to say.
And haybales do soften fall damage now with 80%, which is a nice addition.
To be honest, I'm quite glad they got rid of one the most weird crafting recipes ever. I mean, eight huge golden blocks merged with an apple, really?
I don't play the snapshots, so I never heard of any of this stuff. I was really hoping the tipped arrow would just be regular arrows with a potion for crafting, but i have to admit, shooting through a cloud from a lingering potion is pretty sweet. I'm glad they decided not to have the ender crystals dropped by the skeleton horses, because that honestly made no sense to me. I really am irked, though, that they made Notch apples uncraftable. They're remarkably fun to use, and there's no other way to get the Mojang logo on a banner/flag. Is there any way to get them anymore?
1. Luck as an attribute, used for fishing and opening treasure chests. And I think perhaps mob drops too, if I'm reading this stuff about loot tables right.
-Potion of Luck
2. Craftable End Rods (using blaze rods and popped chorus fruit)
3. Craftable End Crystals (using glass, an eye of ender, and a ghast tear)
4. Shooting an arrow through a lingering potion cloud turns it into a potion arrow.
5. Hay bales reduce fall damage immensely.
This is definitely a step in the right direction. Using items that were already in the game to create new stuff instead of having a random new item is good. The method for getting potion arrows is nifty and just annoying enough that they'd be theoretically rarer. And luck being a factor and alterable via a potion of luck is intriguing.

Figured it was time for a change.
I never new they generated cause I have only had minecraft for a year but now you can have natural tree houses!:)

Can't wait!!!!
My current avatar is my fursona version of Jax.
Really? Wow, i was expecting a longer wait than that. This is so exciting!
alright
User: Hey! I can read this!
I wonder what they'll add to today!!

Fix horses or bust.
Rite?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

Who are 'they'?
I have changed my mind about 1.9, it's amazing. Because large oaks are returning to the forests.
How does the potion of harming tipped arrow work? Does it penetrate armor or add its damage to the arrow?
I would assume it inflicts magic damage instead of normal arrow damage, meaning it would indeed penetrate armor (unless Protection is used).
Anyone know if the new potions of Luck and Bad Luck have brewing recipes yet?
It's good that it's chest loot now, but it kinda devalues the Ocean Monument gold.
I suppose... But speaking as a guy who finds branch mining wonderfully relaxing, 8 gold blocks always struck me as a bit meh.

So... 15w44b.

Still waiting on animal breeding improvements. But so far everything is awesome.
Since 1.9 is 90% survival stuff, mods shouldn't take long to update as well! I love this update!
