I’ve tried changing the version’s directory but it hasn’t changed. Everything that has red and blue in it’s texture is swapped, including the home screen, background and Mojang logo. Just need some help. Thanks.
This is due to an incompatibility issue between older versions(?) of Java's AWT library (what versions prior to 1.6 used to render to a window, and has been deprecated for many years, in fact, since even before Minecraft was created (a 9 year old post saying it was obsolete 10(!) years ago; this is one of many legacies of the game being thrown together as a fun project, not a serious game, by somebody who probably used what they learned in school in the 1990s-early 2000s) and Macs using Apple silicon (M1 and newer).
There is a fix but as far as I know it is only available for Beta 1.7.3, unless you are willing to mod it in yourself (the fix includes source code, note that you can't just copy the files over, you'll need to compare them side by side and I'm not sure how much the game changed between Beta 1.7.3 (or earlier) and release 1.5.2):

(from this post, note that they did not make it)
I've also heard that going fullscreen (F11) may fix it since the game is no longer drawing to a window.
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Thanks! I’m startin to get better at understanding code anyway. I might just mod it myself. I use an Apple M1. I appreciate the help!
