In real life, soil under certain coniferous trees has little to no low height plant life.
In Minecraft, podzol can have small plants on it in fair numbers.
Since this sort of soil seems to be dangerous to those plants, shouldn't mega taiga biomes not have small plant life like ferns and grass?
Mojang decided riding dolphins and frogs eating fireflies set bad examples despite once having a pig-off-a-cliff achievement, so I think plants' sensibilities should be considered too in realism, lest someone try to grow small flora under a pine or spruce near their home..
So i'm not a biologist. Also Minecrafts plantlife (floating grass over ponds) seems a little unpredictable to me. I don't know how the terrain generation regarding podzol looks like. It might not work as intendet...
Anyway i support the idea. Plantlife is important.
Minecraft could rise awareness of endangered species here as well. I'm thinking about carnivourus plants in that case. They might just fit in the podzol topic but IM NOT A BIOLOGIST & i don't care about realism that much.
As fare as i know they eat insects to simply survive on that bad soil no other plant can grow on. Weather or not podzol is poisonous to them i just don't know. Reminds me of the parrot & cookie thingy...

For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
