Hard choice...
1.9 qualifies, because shields and dual wield - shields save lives from creepers and allow to completely thrash ranged attackers without using up any ammo, that's dope.
1.14 is also a very important to me, considering crossbows were added and villages took a big leap forward
...
Hmmm... I guess that if I were a freshie I'd prefer raw 1.9, but at the moment - 1.14. I'd probably manage to get my way around blocking with sword, if that was the price to pay for way better villages, piercing arrows and rocket launcher.

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
In your opinion, what was the best Minecraft update?
