I miss some aspects of it yes, and if what TheMasterCaver said was correct I would like renaming items to prevent prior work penalty from increasing, so we are not forced to rely on mending to keep our equipment in peak condition.
But I do wish we could lock the bedrock edition version so we can decide for ourselves if we like a feature in an update enough to justify using a newer version of the game, allow us to weigh up the pros and cons, whether the newer features are good enough to negate the bad about them.
even on Java edition updates tend to break mods, so for creative mode or modded servers you'd have to be careful about which version you launched.
Back when I was active on Java edition I used to use Forge for loading mods on non vanilla worlds I downloaded off other sites, since it was the easiest way to load multiple mods at once, although it may not be the most efficient now, at least it worked and did so without crashing the game unless 2 or more mods conflicted or caused an error.
I kinda miss classic minecraft. How many people prefer it?
