Nether update they added about 74 new blocks and the nether had 9 nine years to be updated
The Nether received many small updates since Pretty Scary. 1.4 added wither stuff, 1.9 added more music, and 1.14 added more ravines and lava formations. But these are all small potatoes compared to 1.16, to be fair.
Java Edition 1.9, also known as the combat update!
Not only did it make the combat system much better, but it added some of the most fun additions to the game. The different arrows, the dual wielding, and best of all... Elytra! The Elytra, along with along with pretty much everything added to the End in this update, are amazing. I loved flying around with fireworks and exploring my worlds from a new perspective. Another amazing feature were end cities! I loved going around and looting the structures. It was some of the most fun I'd ever had playing Minecraft and that's why it's one of my favorites.
1.13, Aquatic update. Coral, Sea Pickles, Turtle Eggs, Conduit, Buried Treasure Maps, etc., all still useful and fun. The challenge of diving a deep shipwreck and recovering the treasure and map, >then< following the map and getting >more< treasure is still one the the most enjoyable aspects of the current came, (for me).
It's not that hard to get distance between you and piglins, I find. Or to just build an extra portal.
But they can spawn close by, close enough to start aggroring you as soon as they notice you using a chest, it means any chest not just ones that exist in nether fortresses or bastions. It could be a barrel, an ender chest or trapped chest.
Me and pals of mine have found solutions however, we build bunkers to shield ourselves temporarily while opening a chest.
If it wasn't for armour in the game though, Piglin would kill you almost every time because of the insane amount of damage their weapons do. Most players are not god tier enough to survive being raided by a group of Piglin without wearing armour. And unless you get to the portal before they do, you're screwed.

What about minecarts with chests or donkeys with chests? Do they attack those?
Item frames?
There are always alternate solutions...
I do agree though that the mechanic is quite poor.

I don't know about item frames. I think there was an exploit with hoppers though, problem is I don't know if that even still exists, and even if that does it won't be for very long knowing Mojang.
and yeah it is absurd, considering Piglin are supposed to be mostly a neutral mob with the exception of brutes.
But it doesn't take much to trigger them.
It would make sense if they got annoyed about you opening their chests because you are taking their loot.
but when you start going through your loot which you mined, and didn't steal, that's when the mechanics start to make no sense at all.
Of course you could argue that Piglin are simply greedy and will take whatever they can get their hands on,
but if that's the case, if they are so greedy, why are they engaging in bartering? bartering voluntarily, is the opposite of greed.

I get more the impression that they go 'well fine, you scratch my back, I scratch yours' kind of deal. Reluctantly tossing something they don't need in order to be 'fair' rather than willingly and eagerly trading. Instead of having a dialog window, you just throw stuff at each other. Doesn't sound super polite.

I've been a big fan of world generation and new biomes I would say 1.7 and the upcoming 1.17 part 2 with the new mountain generation and cave generation. New generation just adds so much to explore.

It definitely does, but a lot of people miss the pre 1.7 post 1.8-beta design with 10 biomes. It was much simpler back then.

I am pretty sure bedrock edition players and even legacy console edition players would miss those older versions even more. It is against policy of the big 3 to allow playing older versions because of their checks and balances against people cheating.
Unfortunately this ends up ruining the sandbox experience, not the patched glitches part, the rest of what forced updates entails.
Because console gamers cannot lock Minecraft to a specific version, they cannot experience Minecraft the same way Java players currently do.
And it gets worse, you literally have to play older versions to get mods to work, otherwise compatibility issues break them.
In vanilla survival I can understand this
but in creative servers or servers with cheats enabled, achievements are disabled on Xbox Live and PSN.
So it shouldn't matter if you're modding those other worlds, it's just Sony and Microsoft being stingy on what content people can

use for the games.
Which in return is a bad decision for a sandbox game, especially minecraft imo. Minecraft is so big bc of it's community.
The more content available for the game, the more let'splays on yt / twitch. The more of those free advertisers, the more sales for the game.
With the option to use mods made by the community, Microsoft and Sony wouldn't need to pump money into DLC's.
If Mojang would actually stop supporting the java edition (i doubt that would happen in the next 10 years),
the game would still keep going with mods, they would still sale java edition.
That's just wasted potential.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
It's also worth it to consider how much more diverse terrain generation was before 1.7, as TMC points out very often.
1.18 is going to fix some of this but not all of it, adding slopes and extremes can bring back sharp hills and gentle ones, but it won't bring back arches and cliffs.
Those old versions were natural, random, odd, and unuseful, and this made them feel like actual wilderness.
out of all the updates what was your favourite one? and why?
1.12 because of crafting recipes.
Aquatic update because of tridents, and fish are visible underwater, plus the water physics were greatly improved.
Before the aquatic update the oceans were boring.
And there was a problem where water looked like it kept running off the sides of the glass underwater, which was a bug.
Now you can see through glass properly underwater and it makes building underwater much more rewarding.

Survival test. It just brings back good memories, thats all.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
the best part about the nether update is the bastions and the newer biomes, but beyond that they didn't change much.
Also Piglin aren't programmed to recognize their own chests, they attack you for opening your own ones also which is lame.
this means it is not safe anywhere to use an Ender chest except for in Warped forests or inside Netherack cave systems.
The worst thing you could possibly do in the game is make a feature useless.

1.12.2 because it's still the final version to have proper world customization.
Stay fluffy~
