yeah, well, OK. i'm hoping the decrease (NERF), the shovel speed too, on a Future Update
i think all of That, paired with furniture, and warriors, would give the Game a sense of direction, regardless of how it is implemented, i'd surely be in close contact with players that want to come along in That Way

I kinda see why, actually, efficiency 5 diamond shovels do move items too fast for my liking,
which is why I've chosen to stick with efficiency 4
It's harder to make a tidy dig site if your shovel is behaving as if it is being used by Superman.
I wouldn't mind having a slight nerf to efficiency shovels tbh.
A simple way to balance out tools would be to increase the hardness of all blocks, or at least "weak" blocks, and remove the 0.25 second delay between consecutive blocks, with the hardness adjusted so e.g. stone takes the same amount of time to mine as it currently does with a diamond pickaxe when factoring in the delay between blocks (the Wiki states that it takes 0.3 seconds but in reality it takes 0.6 seconds per block when mining multiple blocks in succession because you add 0.25 seconds for the delay between blocks and another 0.05 seconds (1 tick) to start on the next block).
This means that the hardness of stone would be doubled and with a base time of 0.6 seconds Efficiency V would decrease the time to 0.2 seconds, which is actually faster than it currently is (0.4 seconds per block or 150 blocks per minute, per my own measurement); perhaps this means that the effect of Efficiency should be changed; e.g. made linear (e.g. + level * 2) instead of quadratic (+ level * level + 1), in which case it would take 0.35 seconds per block (which is still 0.05 seconds faster than before; if Efficiency only added its level then it would take 0.45 seconds, or 0.05 seconds longer.
The only issue with this then is that harder blocks like obsidian would take far longer than they currently do since the 0.25 second delay is a much smaller fraction of the total time; it would only decrease from 9.7 to 5.85 seconds per block. Alternatively, keep the 0.25 second delay in no matter how fast the tool can mine, with the exception of blocks with a hardness of 0 (thus, "instant-mining" would no longer be thing except against blocks like crops), and/or make the delay be based on the hardness (0.25 for blocks like stone, 0.1 for blocks like dirt, etc).
Then again, I don't have any issues with the mining speed of tools being too fast; if anything, I consider anything less than an Efficiency V diamond pickaxe to be too slow; of course, I regularly mine around 4500 blocks per play session, with around 3000 of those being ores, which can be mined at the rate of 133 blocks per minute (this is equivalent to 22.5 minutes spent mining ores, though this is only about 10% of the time I spend playing). I even use Efficiency V while mining nether quartz, even though it instantly mines netherrack and is often disliked for that reason (the 0.25 second delay is based on the block just broken so it is applied between the last quartz ore and netherrack next to it, which is enough so I can avoid mining it. Obviously, not everybody has a fast reaction time).

That's fine
but I'm talking about softer blocks like dirt, gravel and sand, which are already speedy to pick up using even non enchanted stone shovels.
I don't feel like a nerf to the breaking of obsidian with a diamond pickaxe is necessary, in fact it would actually be irritating to have those blocks take twice as long to break and pick up. I think the hardness of those types of blocks should be left alone.
We have blocks that I would put into 2 categories
loose earth types (sand, gravel, dirt, grass etc)
solid earth types (stone, diorite, granite, obsidian, as well as the various ores etc)
While it certainly makes sense to be able to break and pick up sand much faster than it would be for stone or obsidian, you shouldn't be scooping a dozen blocks every second
what if there is lava behind it and you want to stop or change direction to avoid destroying the dirt or gravel in the stuff? not to mention the fact that lava is a hazard to players and without armour or fire resistance potions lava has a high probability of killing you if it touches you.
In fact this is likely the reason why people would dislike instant breaking netherrack in the nether, lava flows much faster in the Nether than it does in the Overworld, and you know this, so there does come a point where breaking blocks too fast becomes a problem, it can waste resources and kill you.

yes. This effect is multiplied during the STORM, as if gets even harder to see, and sometimes the hard enemies come out, no matter what biome You are in, even carbon copy biomes, You are going to be breaking a lot of materials, trying to find at the same Time, adequate places to store your ITEM

I just use efficiency 4 on my shovels instead of 5 because I don't want my inventory filling up too quickly, and I like to be organized with my dig sites too.
Some people would prefer efficiency 5, that's their choice.
I just think there is a point where it can become overkill, with efficiency 5 shovels why would you even bother with a Haste beacon? I don't even use Haste beacons although I plan on doing so in the future for Pickaxes. I wouldn't use one solely for scooping up sand or dirt.

sure, it's an Infinite World, and not every player is going to agree on the same Things, no matter what map they generate, it all depends what materials You can get, and how many enemies spawn at the same Time

Even an Efficiency III diamond shovel instantly mines dirt and sand, with grass blocks and gravel requiring Efficiency IV (or an Efficiency III netherite shovel), so you are already at the maximum speed that any shovel can ever mine at:
This page lists every block that can be instantly mined and what combination of tool and/or Efficiency and/or Haste is required (interestingly, there are no blocks that can be instantly mined with an Efficiency V diamond/netherite/gold pickaxe alone; at least Haste I is required for any blocks to benefit, though it does mine many harder blocks faster).
Also, I noticed that somebody recently updated the Wiki to say that the delay between blocks is 0.3 seconds (instead of 0.25), since as mentioned before while the code does have a 5 tick delay it takes another tick to actually start on the next block (this is also why "instant breaking" is limited to 20 blocks per second). Either way, the removal of the 5 tick delay when a block can be broken instantly causes a large discrepancy between blocks that can be broken instantly and blocks that can't (the time taken by consecutive blocks suddenly drops from 0.4 to 0.05 seconds, an 8-fold increase in mining rate, as the base time decreases from 0.1 to 0.05 seconds or less).

Haste also has to be used carefully, I wouldn't use beacons in the Nether because of the potential for the beacon to be destroyed by Ghast
there are potions to cause the Haste Status but netherrack is already easy to mine without it, so there's little to no point in my opinion.
If you were mining for blackstone or ancient debris on the other hand, then Haste could be beneficial because these blocks take longer to break than netherrack.
If you're wearing armour which by the time you reach the Nether you should be,
then it's worth the risk
But remember in the Nether there are pockets of lava hidden within the netherrack terrain,
so the more blocks you break away in one swipe the more resources that could be wasted by them dropping into the lava.
This is not something that Haste or Efficiency can do anything to prevent,
will these updates ever introduce official furniture? like chairs? and tables? (not piston made ones)
i'm trying to talk My Buddy into just go ahead and playing (This Game) (With Me)
but He says he will refuses to unless of course there are furniture
He also likes animals, and stuff, but those are easily, EASILY, downloaded with "MODS"
being and infinite World, There is so much potential, and i want Him to come along with Me, as a druid, or warrior
Nope. Mojang believes that furniture stifles creativity. If you want actual furniture, use mods.
well, (OK):, i suppose that makes sense, Then, i uh, i'll check The STORE, for some good shirt skins while i'm at it too, maybe grab a "SCI-FI" Pack
A strange explanation from people working at a game studio that already implemented beds.
Chairs could be given a gameplay mechanic reason for existing in the game, so they can't pull that excuse out of nowhere and somehow be credible.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

RE: Furniture
A rocking chair would be a fine addition while fishing.
Then getting large amounts of sand without a duper would be even harder without efficiency 5 shovels :/
right, sure, Aye, uh huh, yes, that'd be a sad world to live in, One without effiency 5 shovels, haha
If that's sarcasm, think about how hard it would be to uncover diamonds hidden by dirt or gravel while strip mining!
