I'm having an argument with someone and would like others input. Technically renewable means the player can get it infinitely right? So bedrock wouldn't be considered renewable because the player can't obtain it in survival. But if the player could obtain bedrock then it would be renewable because bedrock spawns on the top of the healing pillars in the end and if it's destroying and when the EnderDragon is spawned in end using end crystals the bedrock respawns. Would it be considered renewable due to the fact that it can be respawned infinitely or would it not be renewable because the player can't obtain it in the first place? The wiki says it's not renewable but he still doesn't think its right.
The only way I can see to get it that's renewable is Creative Mode, otherwise you can't get it from the Pillars in the End I don't think as they don't need to generate (the obsidian might if the End Crystal destroy it but those more so destroy the Iron Bars), and you see Bedrock at the bottom of the world sure but you see Stone/Dirt in many biomes/underground and while the game is/isn't infinite (I don't remember) then what more is there to say. The only limit is your device's hardware, if it can't generate more than that it. Otherwise you could yes generate the world without Bedrock but obviously that would be off topic.
In a general sense yes Bedrock can't be obtained or be infinitely collected, but in Creative that's that only way to get it Infinitely, it's just to do that you'd want to move it to a chest or something but as not many things use Bedrock for mods recipes or only needing it for blast resistance there isn't much point to get it infinitely.
In Bedrock Edition, there are some known glitches to obtain bedrock in survival. However, in Java Edition, after a patch made in snapshot 16w02a, it is not longer possible for bedrock to drop as an item by breaking it in survival.
So in my opinion, it is not renewable, since it cannot be obtained in survival Minecraft. In addition, it cannot be moved by pistons, meaning it would also be impossible to obtain infinitely many blocks of placed bedrock.
It's technically renewable in the sense that you can't run out of it. Even if you somehow destroy some bedrock on the exit portal, respawning and killing the ender dragon respawns it. Then again, it's not like you can destroy it in the first place outside of Creative or glitching.
