I'm back! Today I uploaded a video about why Hermitcraft is much cooler than most people give it credit for. It's a short video as I wanted to be as compact and straight to the point as possible, but then I realized something. Why is Hermitcraft cooler than I think? So please, HermitCraft fans out there, please let me know why you enjoy the series so much!
Everyone stay safe and healthy,

I love Hermitcraft because I just love watching the hermits build all these crazy redstone builds and I love watching them build in general. It reminds me of the Yogscast during the Tekkit days when they would all hop on one server and just play. Watching them also gives me new ideas for things to do in Minecraft. Recently I've started to get back into Minecraft after taking a break from it, and its all thanks to the Hermitcraft community.
I am a great fan of Hermitcraft. I had enjoyed many tutorials by various Hermits, but didn't even know exactly what Hermitcraft was until Grian (whose building tutorials I love) joined the server. Then I started watching him playing Season 6. That got me addicted to Hermitcraft.
I love the way the Hermits interact with each other and how you can follow everything that happens from different perspectives. For example, I watch Grian playing a prank on Mumbo Jumbo. Then I watch the whole thing again from Mumbo's perspective. And then he plays a return prank. It is hilarious. I only wish I had time to watch every episode by every Hermit. I like to watch their adventures in sequence like a TV show. The ones I follow the most currently are Grian, Mumbo, Scar, Iskall, xisuma, Doc and joehills (man, do I love his Tennessee accent!), but that is only because I started out with their Episode ones of Hermitcraft season 7 and can't even keep up with watching all their episodes. If I ever catch up I can start with Episode one by another Hermit. They are all great and talented Youtubers.

I love hermitcraft because all the the hermits get along so well together, making for some pretty funny videos. (I also like watching their demise deaths.)
For me I loved the idea of Minecraft YouTubers playing together and the whole idea of the sever with bases, builds, economies, pranks and shenanigans! Much like Toadrunner I had a similar story:
I am not good at redstone, every now and then I used to go and watch a Mumbo video for help, in the end it was one time too regularly so I thought "I may as well just subscribe to him" At this stage, it was within the first quarter of season 5 when he was building his prismarine coffee tables in the middle of an ocean. I had no idea what Hermitcraft was, but I gave it ago, and I just fell in love with it. So I watched his perspective only for the rest of season 5. Season 6 would be much different though. During this time, I simarly watched Grain's build videos occasional and subscribed to him as well, little did I know like many, he would appear next series.
In series 6 things changed. Obviously I was very happy to see Grian join, but due to the nature and appearing in each others videos and the interaction I ended up subscribing to more hermits. Some were natural like xisumavoid and naturally Iskall85, others had more of a story - like getting a hint of Stress' personality guarding the G-tower in the civil war, or giving Scar a go after the civil having seen his magnificent builds and landscaping in others videos. When he came back after the civil war after a bit of time out due to his ongoing illness, I started watching his and it was an easy subscription immediately.. Just like when Keralis came back at the end of #6, it was instant. Bdubs took a little longer, again not really knowing him before, but I was was very endeared by the trident "Incident" with him and Keralis over at Sahara.
Currently I follow about 10 of them and it is hard keeping up! I've been a few weeks behind, 3 at one point; and have to have "hermit" weekends like this one to try and catch up on them all. It's very entertaining and keeps me motivated for my own 9 & 1/2 year old java survival world.

This is an incredibly nice response! Thank you for sharing I feel like the longer I watch Hermitcraft the more people I decided to check out; from there I have a LOT more content to view-- in this way, I totally understand the struggle of trying to be caught up. Do you have anything you do to prepare for "Hermit" weekends? I might have to do the same x)

Not really, but I'm all for grabbing some chips (Or crisps here in the UK), popcorn - or whatever takes your personal fancy, getting comfy and just going for it!

I don't watch Hermitcraft as much as everyone else here, but I really enjoy watching their videos every now and then.
To me they serve as an inspiration. Seeing the effort they put into their large scale builds has helped me tackle some big projects of my own.

I'm not sure I would've managed to get half of this done if I hadn't seen players like Mumbo and Xisuma create much larger builds themselves. They're examples of how far a player can go by putting in some effort. (Without being so massive that they seem unachievable through normal human means *cough* SciCraft *cough* ).
P.S.
Just wanna clarify that most of the players who's designs I've listed are not Hermits. These are examples of the things the Hermits have inspired me to build.

I like Hermitcraft because it's an SMP which is properly vanilla and normal (unlike a certain Dream SMP). It works. That's why it's the most popular ongoing Minecraft SMP ever.
I kind-of feel less attached to it now because that old feeling is gone. S1, S2, S3, and arguably S4 all seem very different to S5, S6, S7, and S8. I started watching Mumbo near the end of S4, and I've watched all of S5, S6, and S7. I can for sure say that the older ones were better.
Not to mention the members the server has lost. It was nice to see Keralis come back in S7.

That's awesome! I was introduced by Mumbo, and I follow, just about, the exact same crowd as you!

OH MY GOSH, TEKKIT! I totally forgot about Tekkit.

For me its because its streamers and youtubers all on one server working on the one server and there all working together

I think that is an incredibly nice reason to enjoy Hermitcraft
