Hey, my computer crashed while i was in game, and now my world is not showing in the list. im guessing level.dat is corrupted. here is the world: http://www.filedropper.com/nyverden-
minecraft version 1.10
Quick look:
As u say, level dat are corruptet but readebel. (I rebuild it from a clean one with u seed date)
Also u got 2 corruptet chunks. (I delet them, if u are near ther MC will re creat them next time.)
Hey, I was working on a map and I'm not sure if this is fixable or not. http://imgur.com/wcaY89d is a picture of what happened. I accidentally logged onto my map in 1.8.9, but then quickly went back on in 1.10. Basically, all of the command blocks have disappeared except for the ones facing downward, leaving a bunch of float redstone where they previously were. I have figured out this is because I logged in with 1.8.9, but is there any way I can recover the command blocks? (And I don't have a backup)

Sorry i think its imposible. I think MC remove the blocks complitly and only the "physik" routines dident see that the redston now fload. (break one redstone and all will fall.
Ok i look and see tMC already regenerate the defect chunks. without an older backup the work ther is lost.
I also see the level dat have change. In the original an custemiste world generator was used. If u wand i can send u an fixt level.dat and also i can remove the new but wrong generatet chunks from u world so if u next time login with u Modet MC it will generate the chunks right.
What happened was... so my computer was being really slow, even if I pressed X on it, it wouldn't close, so I force shut down (Hold Power). When I turn on the computer, load MC, I see the world is not there. Also.. I should mention the MC was modded with Forge, all I had was WorldEdit. Can you help?
If u put u world in an compressd file (ZIP, RAR, ACE, 7ZIP,...) upload it to an file hoster and send my the link i can try to fix it.
Hopfully only the level.dat get wrong setting in it to fix it.
Can u pleas tell my the Minecraft version u play. (it help to got the level dat fixt.)
1. For good fixing all always need the Minecraft Version. (The version the world was create and the last played Version)
2. For a realy good working fix i need the hole world not only the level dat files.
Ok simply speed fix: Delete u level.dat and rename the level.dat_old into level.dat
Hope you can help :\ I really like this world, great starting point and a lot of work put in.
Minecraft version is 1.10
Bad/good news:
- Level.dat and Level.dat_old are corruptet.
(If u have u original SEED for u world i can rebuild it for u.)
- Also u got 1 corruptet and 13 Wrong locatet chunks.
(Some of them are in u mining places. i remove them from u world but for good results i need the original seed to recreate them.)

This is what it says :
Description: Watching Server
"Watching Server" crashes are actually due to a "feature" that Mojang added back in 1.8 where a "watchdog" will intentionally shut down the server if there is too much lag, which can easily happen during normal operation (and ironically, like any crash, potentially cause world corruption!):
Of course, actual world corruption can cause excessive tick lag but I'm betting that all you need to do is disable the watchdog as described above; normal sources of lag like too many players (and/or), using world editing commands (or mods), generating new terrain, and so on can easily cause enough lag to activate the watchdog. Just in case, check the server log for any warnings or errors besides "can't keep up" (the times given in these warnings can also be a good clue as to whether it was simply the watchdog, as noted above, times above 60000 ms will trip it and I've seen times in excess of this in singleplayer, where the watchdog is permanently disabled).
not sure if I could get help, too and I have to admit that I did not read through all 110 pages of this thread yet.
Basically our server is heavily suffering from performance issues ("Can't keep up") but this could also be related to a quite big map we were playing on (~ 2GB of size).
Do you think you could do your magic also here? We rented a minecraft server (1.7.10) running a certain mod pack and installed a couple of other mods in addition. Meanwhile the map is more or less unplayable as the longer the server runs the more it lags. All is fine on a new map.
I have no experience with any kind of tools which try to optimize saved maps, I once ran a region fixer but was scolded by my g/f later on as it removed all entities - including her tamed animals ;-)
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
OK sorry for the late answer. (RL can be time hungry ,-) )
Its not so simply to fix Mod worlds. Some time some mods eat up u CPU power or u RAM.
- First u realy have to use Minecraft-Region-Fixer to look if ther are problems in the Vaniler file format. (If u use the commandline version u can run only an test without fixing funktions).
If the are an Entety problem u can let the tool fix it for u or u can use MC-Edit to go in the world and fix (delete entety) be hand.
- It sounds u run u world on an server, some mods load massive chunks (thats eat up ram and CPU). It´s an good thing to deaktivate that for testing.
- Also u have to look if on u world spawn some readston machines or other Mod machines that always run. (this kinde ohf things also ead up CPU and Ram)
If u wand u can put u world in an Archivefile (RAR ar the best for so big worlds) upload it to an filehoster and send my the link, i will test the world for u if i can find the Source of the problem.
This world is for my server and for some reason it crashes the server. But i know its not the server itself because when i remove the world from the directory it makes a new world and it works perfectly fine.
This world is for my server and for some reason it crashes the server. But i know its not the server itself because when i remove the world from the directory it makes a new world and it works perfectly fine.
Ok short test the world:
- level.dat OK
- ChunckFilestrukture OK (But some strange generatet Chunks)
- One blank generatet chunk in u Village. (I think somthing gowing wrong with u Server setting)
For more Testing i need som informations:
- The Minecraft Version u Play.
- The Serverprogram u use (and the Version Number of it)
P.S.: I test the world in Vanilla 1.10.2 and it works good.

U are lucky, only the level.dat was corruptet and i rebuild it from level-dat.mcr file.

Sorry, i dont know a way to recalculate the seed from the Chunk files.
After i get clear from the "Medieval Market" on Saturday i try some Seeds to get an not so bad looking world.
Ok to look if it a world or an PC Problem i need u world in an Compressdfile (ZIP, RAR, ACE, 7ZIP...) uploadet to an file Hoster and the link send to my. (If u dont want that other see the world sent it as an PM.
"Watching Server" crashes are actually due to a "feature" that Mojang added back in 1.8 where a "watchdog" will intentionally shut down the server if there is too much lag, which can easily happen during normal operation (and ironically, like any crash, potentially cause world corruption!):
MC-63590 Watchdog shuts down server
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

When your finished email the link to download to [email protected]
Ok short test the world:
- level.dat OK
- ChunckFilestrukture OK (But some strange generatet Chunks)
- One blank generatet chunk in u Village. (I think somthing gowing wrong with u Server setting)
For more Testing i need som informations:
- The Minecraft Version u Play.
- The Serverprogram u use (and the Version Number of it)
P.S.: I test the world in Vanilla 1.10.2 and it works good.
