Looks like i can fix it . . but there are 8 defect chunks that has to regenerate.
Funny part its that u map look like it lost his "world key" if i erase one chunk and let minecraft recreate it,
its generate desert biom chunks.
Have u the original world key still some were(or maybe an old backup)???
Shorten Version off u world to look about these little problem:

The world seems to be working fine but nothing looks familiar. Our home is not at their coordinates and the area is different. Do the coordinates get changed after a world fix? Is our home seen in the screenshots anywhere in this world?
Thanks for all of your hard work and quick response. I will be leaving on holiday soon but will return in a couple of days and may get to check this thread while away.

Thanks again.
I double check it, all is on the same location like u pictures.
Maybe its don't look familiar because i have replaced all wrong located chunks with good chunks from u backup.
And i have to remove all entities for the mass mop spanning problem. (after such an action i all ways let Minecraft "repopulate" the world. Thats mens new animals new treas and new oars. I think thats it better then an death[without animal] world)
One last Question from my, is u world an 1.7.2 or an older world. If it an 1.7.2 world u have the "world key" problem for longer time. (U Creeper building was on an typical version change landmark)

Wish good holidays.
Thanks again for your help. I am using 1.7.2 with minecraft_server.1.7.2.exe. I'll take some screenshots at the same coordinates and show you what I see.
Hello, I'm new to the forums, but it seems one of my worlds is corrupted.
I've been reading this thread for a while and it seems the problem is quite common. There was a power outage while I was playing. Next time I log in there's a chunk-sized black square in my world. I'm thinking it's probably a bug and move on until I find another one nearby. They don't fix themselves with F3+A or when I relog, if I get close I can see the Void at the bottom, and if I try to enter one I get pushed back. Arrows also behave wierdly when fired into them.
So I made the mistake of somehow getting stuck inside of one, so I log out, made a back up and open the save with mcEdit. The "black hole" chunks appear as copies of nearby chunks in mcEdit. If I try to log back in from Minecraft it tries to build to world for a while and then it returns me to the main menu, eventually crashing the game.
I tried deleting the 2 weird chunks I found in mcEdit but it didn't do the trick. Neither did the "Repare regions" option. I can access a backup from the world with Windows but I've made a lot of work since then. Is this fixable?
I appreciate any help. If you need anymore information let me know.
Edit: Additional information after re-reading the op. I doubt this are useful though, since everything worked before the blackout:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Java 1.7.1_21
i5 CPU
4GB RAM (I assign 2 to minecraft)
nVidia n9600GT GPU
Edit 2: I've opened it again on mcEdit and the wierd chunks now appear empty instead of as copies of other chunks like the screenshots show. I have no idea why.
Edit 3: Just in case, I'm going to try to copy the work I did and paste it onto the backup that Windows made. If I succed, I won't really need my world fixed.
Final edit: Ok, I managed to transfer all the important stuff from my corrupted world to a clean one. If anyone is wandering I used mcEdit to transfer the buildings and chests (I made sure not to copy the weird chunks) and NBTExplorer to copy my items and gear. The only thing that's different is a jungle that I had explored before the blackout. When I returned there, the trees were different than the previous time (they are not determined exactly by the seed.) But I can replant the one's that caught my eye, i guess; copying the whole jungle seemed a bit extreme.
It was a workaround, but it worked. Please don't waste your time trying to fix my world. Thanks anyway!
Is my world corrupted? It gets stuck on "Building Terrain" when I'm loading it. I've had it forever, and recently I had to restart my computer. Would this corrupt my world? I can't upload to MediaFire due to restrictions (my parents only let me do singleplayer)

If you restarted it cold blooded, using the hardware button instead of the normal way, and you were playing minecraft at the time, yes, it may be corrupted. I don't know what restrictions you are talking about, but I doubt people here can help you if you don't upload your world. Anyways, wait for someone that knows a bit more than me.

That happens some times if chunks are wrong located.
Some times the entities are 100 of chunks away.
Only way to fix that in time is to erase all entities and repopulate the world.
Hi, I may have a problem of world corruption in my SSP.
I was playing when my computer suddenly became unresponsive and it affected the the game somehow.
When I'm loading my world, the following happened :
- Building terrain screen is abnormaly long
- No sound / big lag when placing blocks
- No block dropping when destroying one
- Surrounding chunks not loading
I tried to restart/reinstall the game several times, without success.
Now each time I start the the world, nothing is loaded and I fall indefinitely until I see the bedrock particles.
Using blocks/items has no effect.
I have an early backup of my world and I can play it without any problem.
Here is the link of my world, I really would appreciate if you can take a look at it :
Hello, I too have a problem with a corrupted single player map which me and 2 of my friends play via Hamachi.
I'm running the voltz modpack via Technic Launcher with a few additional addons (Buildcraft/additional pipes/archimedes ships).
Minecraft version: 1.5.2
OS: win7 64bit
Java: up to date
We have been playing a lot on it and it would be a shame to start from scratch.
Due to some issue with my PC I had to press the reset button while playing the map and now i can't seem to load it any longer.
The loading screen stops at "Building Terrain" and tries to load indefinitely.
I can acess the map via MCEdit but "Repair Regions" does not fix it. No crash report also nothing in the logs
I'm desperate and looking for help.
