Thanks man! I don't even want to know what they would have done to me if I had to start a new world again .-.

i've got some issues myself...
well i've been working on this save for a few months back, but after the map update it just loads just fine, no frame rate dropping but it kept crashing after a few minutes in the game, and then my computer died on me. sad to say all i had was an old backup which i restored tonight in hopes of rebuilding my world again. but the same crash keeps occuring. i really love this world, and before it crashed it was perfect and i really want to re-build. do you happen to recognize the bug? btw, it's one of those black screen crashes.
PS: do you need the world to be uploaded?

EDIT: i forgot to mention i still have that original backup of the world before it was converted. and oh yeah, i used recuva but it recovered more than 6000 files in .minecraft folder so i guess that's no use...

Hi, i was wondering if you could help me. Chunks in my world i suspect have recently become corrupted because myself and others are no longer able to join the server and have trouble downloading the terrain. I had a backup made prior to when the world file went to crap but after an hour or so of play it kicks everyone from the server and the same error occurs.

Silent: I cleaned up a few chunks and pruned off the unused part of the map. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Voordal sorry for being anxious..but if there is a single chance that my map can be saved take all the time you need...please just fix it it's the best of all my maps..

Fyi, I have a mod called Biosphere, made by Risugami (the same one who made modloader, which I also have), so that's why the world is spherical. lol

Steves: If those files are missing, there isn't much that I can do. Maybe ask to see if the virus scanner quarantined it or if they were deleted?

Is the message we get from our server. I personally am not sure what it means. But my friend believes it to be a corrupt chunk... Whatever it is, I've tried several things but to no avail. Would you please take a look for me? If it can be fixed then awesome, if not then it's no big deal.

Technically, no. Its not. However MCEdit doesnt fix all problems, and even poses a risk if you dont know what you're doing.

HI there, due to a recent power-outage, my save file got corrupted.
When I opened up minecraft again, the save file wasn't in the list of saves.
I restored to a old level.dat and the save was playable again.

But, all my stats and achievements got reset back to 0.
Any idea how to fix it?
And how can I quickly check for chunk errors?

The term 'chunk errors' can mean a lot of things, to be honest. Some just need MCEdit to see/fix them. Some need more work.

More out of my own curiousity, can you post the save file, including the new and old level.dat? I'd like to see for myself how achievements work with some testing, and maybe I can help you out some more.

my whole minecraft saves was wiped i dont know why but it has i checked everywhere but they were not the

I'll upload the save as soos as I have some time, but I found this on the Wiki page for Known Bugs:
"After Minecraft crashes and a save is recovered, your achievements and statistics are reset."

Lucky stats and achievements aren't important, and as far as I can see in the .minecraft folder, their stored in /stats/stats_[Player_name]_unsent.dat and I am guessing their meant to update to the server regularly, but as that is not implemented yet they just sit their in offline mode and get easily corrupted just like the level.dat, tried to revert to the .old but the stats remained 0, but thats not surprizing, my level.dat_old was corrupted as well (yay for very old backups :smile.gif: ).

Sneeshy: Is the save still on your computer in your minecraft saves folder?
