Ok.. so the first game I extracted froze at the same point.. and I extracted the second one the exact same way but it's not even showing up when I open the game... it's still the same world/date the last time I played.
I'm gonna bang my head in to the wall for a bit!
Should I save the two fixes and just uninstall/reinstall Minecraft?
I COULD just start over from scratch.. but dang that's a lot of work!!
"...but it's not even showing up when I open the game..." what diet u meaning? U don´t see the world on the selection screen?
Both worlds have a different Folder name that u original. "42(CompanionWho)(fix)" and "wut wut(CompanionWho)(fix)" they shoot be on the selection screen if u start Minecraft and select Singelplayer.
Its always a good Idea to make a clean install of Minecraft if it became unstable. Maybe also look if u got the right Java Version. (Best sugestion is JAVA 7 and depent on u Operationsystem the 64 or 32 Bit Version. <only use one of them to avoid trouble>.
Thanks.. I think I am still on Java 6? I will double check that and update if necessary.
And yes, at the selection screen I am seeing the 42 (fix) but not the fixed version of the other game wut wut.. Not really sure why it's doing that as I extracted them exactly the same.
For now, going to update my Java and do a clean reinstall of minecraft and I hope that helps!
I'm new here, and been a regular Minecraft player. I sure hope someone can help me with this issue. I now understand somewhat how the chunks are handled, but I do not know how to fix it. The problem began when I went into the Nether and left the original area where I usually teleported in and out. I traveled a ways out and saw overworld chunks in the underworld. So I built another portal in that area, and when i went into the actual overworld I was 8x, somewhere around (-3200, -1600) from where I began. Ok no problem still, I built a new castle in this new area and traveled via overworld to my original home.
WHen I got pretty close (-250,-0) to my home base, the chunks of another Biome seemed to overwrite the original chunks. I kept a backup but oddly enough, I have to die to get my actual home base to be available again. Basically my entire map is corrupted...
I like the new place, and I want to keep my old place. Can you restore without destroying what happened in the new place? It looks like it's two full map lengths between. Please forgive my lack of experience in posting and in handling this issue clearly. I read the instructions from 2011 at the start of this thread and there are 88 pages. I don't know what the requirements are now...

The requirements are the same as in the original Post.
We need from u:
- The Minecraft Version u create u world. (To recreate chunks if the chunk generate change to u aktual Minecraft Version)
- The Minecraft u actual play with. (For testing)
- A compressd version of u World Folder. (ZIP, RAR, ACE, 7ZIP...) uploadet to an filehoster.
Badly some thing change in the actual Minecraft Version (1.8.x) that i no longer can use some fixing tools. I have to do chunk repair on the old way: chunk for chunk manualy on sight. (open with MC-Edit an recreate all wrong looking chunks)
If u have a world befor 1.8 i think it will be a quick fix. If u world not to big in MB (Diskspace).

OK u got 1 wrong lokated Chunk near the littel village. I remove them.
Hey bro, really hope you can help me! I'm still not sure what could have caused my world to corrupt but when I loaded it today, MC crashed at the loading screen. I thought it was because of mods and tried removing some but turns out it wasnt. Then I started a new world and it loaded fine so I suspected my original world got corrupted somehow. I tried using the method on the minecraft wiki to recover a corrupted world and the rest of the world loaded exactly the same, but the area where my base was, was replaced by a random chunk of a random biome. I repeated the process and it yielded the same result, the rest of the world loaded exactly the same except for the area where my base was. Luckily, I had made an older backup which is loading fine as of now.
Game is modded.

Ok u have 3 wrong located Chunks. U luck the all in u old Backup. I copy the wrong located chunks from u old backup in u defect world.
I hope all work now again. (I can test it because the Mods.)
Ok thank you a lot i just have a few questions if you could please answer.
1. How did you manage to fix it? I'm curious because i tried so many times and nothing worked.
2. Are all of my chunks updated to 1.8.1? Meaning there will be granite/other new stones in all of my chunks?
3. Is there a way to find my original seed? because i do not remember changing it.

No Problem:
1. Hand work with MC-Edit. (Manually deleted all wrong looking Chunks. And generate them in Minecraft again.)
2. They are only 20-40 Chunks from u original world left, and u say u generate them with 1.8.1 so all will be fine.)
3. Sorry no way as i know to found out u old seed.
But how did my seed change to an old one? Is it because i went into 1.6.2 with my 1.8.1 world?
Possible but i think more about a defect world. Normal the world chunks will not over wright, only not known blocks and items will delete and new chunks will generated with the chunk generator from the Minecraft Version u use.
Have u a PC Crash will playing Minecraft???
Firstly my game is modded. The other day I was playing and my computer shut down mid game, now when I try to get into my world it kicks me back to the launch screen. I tried to repair it with MC-Edit but I have no idea what I am doing. Any help or clarity to my problem would be greatly appreciated!
