I'm working on a datapack as a side project. I was recently considering writing a module for it that adds features throughout the world. Stuff that gets you to get up and explore. The two feature types I have so far are Way Gates (teleport you home) and some sort of beacon-like upgrade feature (temporary buffs).
I'm looking for more ideas, if you're willing to contribute. For instance, I'm currently mulling over some sort of event feature that spawns in a bunch of mobs and you have to kill them all, similar to raids. Maybe some sort of stylized nether portal feature. What sorts of ideas do y'all have?
The goal isn't the make those sorts of changes. I want to add places you'd be able to find and explore, with this particular module. But I don't want to make it mandatory.

I'd suggest looking into Hexxit for a while. It's a Technic modpack that heavily focuses on exploring. You could get some ideas from it.
