For the past week or so I've been building a city in creative, I decided to go around my world too see if there was anything cool in it. I'm not sure how many blocks I flew away, but now I can't find my house. I was playing in 1.14 and because of the chunk loading problems, I couldn't see any 'landmarks' along the way. I also don't have the coordinates of the area and to make it worse I wan't building near spawn.
Hey , I ran into this problem but even worse , in survival , the only fix i found to this one is to press F3 , save your position , and when you get lost , go to the position you saved , this is by far the only solution i found to this problem
I'd suggest making a backup before looking around any more, in case you can't find find it some other way somebody else may be able to explain how to use some program to see which chunks are generated (that is, where in the world you've been) and what might be there.
Whatever you do, don't load your world in an earlier version of Minecraft, that's almost guaranteed to corrupt it.
If you last slept in a bed at your base (and that bed is still there) you could store your stuff in a chest, maybe at 0 / Y / 0, and kill yourself and hopefully you would respawn at your base. I'm sure there's some other way to find out where your personal spawn is.
If that doesn't work, start at spawn, or 0 / Y / 0 and fly, or teleport, in a spiral pattern until you find it.
Do you have any idea how far from spawn it might be?
From wherever you ended up when you got lost, head towards x=0, z=0, heading towards that should take you within a few hundred blocks of spawn, you may see someplace familiar that helps you figure out how you got from spawn to where you built your house. If not, circle that zero-zero spot at distances of like 500 blocks, 1000 blocks, etc until you do find your house or some familiar landmark that helps you figure out where it was.
When you find your house, write down someplace the approximate coordinates of your base for future reference for next time you get lost.
Or dig down until you find some iron and redstone and make a compass and use that to find your world spawn point, which should be within a couple hundred blocks of zero-zero.

Just testing.
I think it may be 700-800 blocks away from spawn, I'm just not sure in which direction.
