So I am trying to breed villagers while I finish building my castle (their 'future home'), but with no luck. I've had success with this infinite villager breeding system before but it does not seem to be doing the trick this time around. I have a farmer with two others in the pen on the left, and a boat-trapped villager within 8 doors on the upper right. I put in the door-less structure as a wild guess since there was one or two present in my last setup. I've also checked for stray doors/beds w/in a 128-block radius and it's all clear. I've also traded with each multiple times, fed them plenty of food, and observed several instances of 'willing' particles emit from the villagers.
Last time it didn't take much time to go from 'willing' to seeing hearts, but now they're being stubborn. Any help?
I'm not sure the breeders are far enough below the doors to not be counted as part of the population cap.
I'd increase the difference in height to at least 7 blocks.
Did the villager by the doors open the ones at the ends or did you place them that way?
If they were placed that way I don't see any roof that would validate them, though you may have blocks that can't be seen from this angle.
If they were placed facing the roof then it doesn't matter that they've been opened.
The doors on the far right look like they're close enough to the roof but I can't tell for certain.

I think that stairs might well not work as roof blocks, being partly transparent, in that case I would definitely move the roof closer to the doors to be on the safe side.
I count them as being 5 blocks below the doors which should make them part of the counted population.
If they stand on the farmland they may be able to breed, being just over 5 blocks down, but the 2 to the right are standing on grass blocks which are full height blocks..
(Is this the right section? lmk)

Just testing.
I definitely think the breeders are too high up.
