I started in the fall of 2012 on release 1.2.5. It wasn't up to date with the times because my brother got a copy of the ONLY version that was floating around in the school computer lab on a flash drive. I also had an iPod touch and played Minecraft Pocket Edition LITE when my mom's laptop wasn't around. I didn't actually buy the game for a year (2013) for Christmas. By then it was 1.7. And time flew.

I started watching yogscast for what seemed like months before i got my hands on MC 1.2.2
Soon after that it got up to 1.2.5 where i played for a loong time with a few friends .
Main reason is that minecraft gave my computer a lot of lags when 1.3 got introduced, and i had a tiny hamachi server for 1.2.5 set up that we played on.
After a few upgrades i then tried 1.3, but i returned to 1.2.5.
I kept playing 1.2.5 for a very long time, sometimes checking out the newer versions of the game: 1.4, 1.5 but nothing kept my interest so i kept going back to 1.2.5
Im not sure which update it was, the combat update? I got a much better laptop and i jumped from 1.2.5 to like 1.7-1.8 or maybe 1.9 and ever since i kept upgrading the game.
For the last few years i was kinda thinking about a large project where i would main a single world across all future updates but i kept postponing it till i found my perfect seed and the current aquatic version of the game.
In short, i now have a large snow biome island (with the latest water content around it) where im building a huge base on. From there ill be making a nether portal hub, and from the hub i can teleport to any spot in the world to load new chunks or newer versions of the game for new stuff and bring it to my main base on the snow island

I don't like giving too much info about the seeds i share. I feel like its better to let others explore and find out the chest contents, dungeon places and biomes. If someone is giving me a gift i would rather not know what it is until i open it for my self.
2017/04/01, MC 1.11.2, seed 299792458, survival, no commands. I'm still on that world. In fact, it's my only one.
I've started playing as reaction to seeing someone playing. I saw that, and I was like "well, I surely can do better than that!", and I did. Sort of. I haven't had much food in the beginning, so every time I just put all my stuff in some chest and jumped out of my building.
And then, I've started mass producing food. Suddenly, my deaths started to be rare. Then, I implemented some rules (like have that anti-heat-damage potion on you when you're near lava in nether, use your shield, don't pick fights you cannot win, let (sl)endermen come to you and let them be owned by door frame), and…I haven't had any death since.
I started playing in early 2013, shortly after the release of 1.5.1; prior to this I had played the Classic version online a few times and watched YouTubers I was subscribed to for different reasons play it; because of this, I had good knowledge of the game by the time I started playing and adopted my current playstyle pretty quickly (prior to this I did play on a couple "non-caving" worlds where one was a Survival island world, Link Removed (this is likely where I got it from as this is the only search result excluding my own past mentions of it), and a custom map, Stratosphere Survival (an unfortunate casualty of the recent forum purge), which was Link Removed).
I still more or less play in 1.5.1, which has nearly the same world generation as 1.6.4, and the only feature added by 1.6 that I've really used is the block of coal (since then I started mining all of it - some 2000 per play session and nearly tripling my overall ore collection rate. The changes to zombies in 1.6 had pretty much the same effect on the number of mobs I encounter, with both of these changes significantly increasing the XP I gain to the point where I used a maxed-out Fortune pickaxe (37 levels for a single diamond repair) to mine everything for a time without ever needing XP farms), while I've changed some others (regional difficulty makes little sense when you always move around; pre-1.6 behaved as it it were always at 100%. I also replaced the lapis block texture with the brighter one from 1.5). Other changes in 1.6 that directly impacted my gameplay had little effect that I can recall, including the controversial change to hunger (now depleted when healing; I don't take much damage though and use most of my hunger when moving, often not eating until I get down to near zero hunger).
I don't know exactly when i started, But i originally played on my brothers computer in 2010 sometime. When i got my own copy my brother showed me paulsoaresjr, looking at the videos i remember i must have started between July and October 2010.
I took a break here and there, but MC has been a big part of my life especially when i was younger.
It's crazy to think i've been playing minecraft longer than some people that play the game now have been alive, Insane really.
Currently i am taking the first steps into coding mods for the game, and it has brought that wounderous feeling back again, not really knowing what i'm getting into, but there we have it.
I started with Minecraft Vanilla release 1.4.5, and I remember it well. I made a video of my second world and got into mods also around that time. The first modpack I experienced was Tekkit Lite I think and from there besides watching Youtubers like CaptainSparklez for the first few survival Let's Plays (Vanilla and DivineRPG), a bit of Yogscast here and there and Direwolf20 mostly to be my stronger influence of tech mods from 1.6 to 1.8.9 I feel, since 1.8 to 1.8.9 I got into more addons of mods, but 1.9 to 1.12.2 I've had my interest in niche corners of the modding community. I've been mostly into modded since 1.4.6 most if I go off of true versions of the game besides someone be a part of 1.4.5 maybe midway through it's period of existing I guess. But I do remember playing the game before 1.4.6 existed at least.
I had noticed school versions of 1.2.5 before, but it was more the Java 1.4.5 and up I remember more than the 'school passing around' of 1.2.5.
I play any version of the game these days though, for adventure maps or mod testing/survivals. 1.2.5 using Technic Launcher, as well as 1.4.7+ up to 1.6.4 sometimes, but I commonly these days stick with 1.7.10 to 1.12.2 but currently am following the 1.13 release/1.14 snapshot mod/datapack environments at the moment so I don't play the game much but more so to test datapacks or mods from time to time. I get the odd moments of 1.12.2, but I don't often.
Otherwise I've seen playing the game for a while plan to get more into modpack creation (have done 2 so far, 1 for 1.10.2, 1 for 1.12.2), a 1.13.2 puzzle map (Similiarities Formations) based on inspirations of other maps that I had my own idea with. But mod creation I've tried with MCreator and it's fun but I am still a newb XD.
I'm the only one in my family left that plays the game though, my family ditched it around 1.7.10 but I've been playing it since (or else wouldn't be on these forums still :)) whenever a new update comes out or mods other community content comes out since I enjoy the odd moments I have with the game and it's the only game of it's type I play genre wise that's unique compared to anything else I play (survival sandbox I mean, everything else I play is very different, and I can't get into others of the genre whenever I try since Minecraft just has so much I like and hate more than others of it's type).
I'm getting to the point of getting bored with the game, but then I find things to do like make maps, make mods, make modpacks, test community content/make videos on them. Otherwise part of the way through 1.12.2 and I'd have ditched the game by now, but I'm still going a few months later since that time I felt like ditching the game.
Oof, I say this with a lot of pride: I first started playing minecraft during its classic era in 2009. Classic was the and it was honestly the only version of minecraft I needed up until I started trying out the more updated game years later in 2013-14.
I loved classic because creative was the only option you had and servers would revolve around players competing to make the coolest thing they could with the limited amount of blocks. Made a lot of friends during that time and I look back at those times fondly.
I could probably talk about it forever but... I won't pain anyone with a novel to read
I bought the game on September 26th 2010, in Alpha v1.1.2_01 - no breaks/drifting away from the game, a friend showed me the game and I liked it so much I bought it the same night. I practically always play on single-player survival, and still to this day; play on the same second ever saved world I created. Rarely I'll play the win10 version, multiplayer doesn't really interest me - I always end up getting bored.

TBH I think I started when the update 1.2.2 came out but I am not sure what year that was.
Is it just mean or when your playing Minecraft it brings back so many memories. lol

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
