Microsoft actually had very little to do with why Bukkit was deleted. In fact, if I'm correct, they purchased it and the original creator didn't like that, so he filed a DMCA request for it to be taken down. It's been gone for years now, and there's plenty of alternatives available, such as Spigot or Sponge.
Sir, you can google bukkit / spigot for (insert minecraft version) and download it and it'll be safe
