I would like to know if there is such a way to change the natural equipment mobs spawn with (e.g. skeleton's bow, vindicator's axe, pigman's sword etc.). I am designing a datapack and would love to add more weapons and armour to naturally spawning mobs. Currently, is there a way to do this, with datapacks or otherwise?
As a disclaimer I am only looking for methods included in the vanilla game, so no source code editing or hard mods.
datapacks CAN handle that, but it would require a little bit of work on your end, the only way i have found would to be to create a datapack that has it's own spawn handling to basically manually replace existing mobs with armored ones of your choice
