Hello guys that's my question and another one why does windows 10 edition work smoother? It seems that Java Edition requires a beast of a machine to run it but not windows 10 how come? I had a monitor and a expensive desktop a while ago but I left it out in the rain because I didn't really want it I had no use of it. now I regret it because I need it now for schooling and gaming lol I'm looking into getting another monitor and desktop soonish I'm not sure yet I brought a $600 Lenovo laptop and a $400 samsung A7 phone a $400 xbox that i no longer use and a $500 Lego Mammoth from halo thats just sitting in my wardrobe i wish i never brought these things *useless* and last question is it possible to have 500+ Fps? Or how high does it go to?
The biggest difference is the efficiency of the coding. Java edition has a foundation of very messy code, extremely poorly optimized, but if it was optimized, it could run fast too. Win 10 edition's original foundation code was coded all at once, resulting in a consistent coding method throughout, and was coded more efficiently.
A big downfall with the Win 10 edition is that it can only be played on Win 10 for some reason. I honestly can't see why win 10 edition can't be played on older, better windows versions other than the fact that Microsoft is trying to push their Windows 10 sales and trying to push people from windows 7 to an inferior windows 10. Microsoft is going to go downhill if they keep playing their little games like that.
A plus with the Win 10 edition (Bedrock) is that players can play with others cross platform between IOS, Android, and many others except for Java Edition as they are the same Minecraft (Bedrock) game, just on different platforms
A plus with Java edition is a much larger, free modding community.
A downside with the bedrock editions is the marketplace paid dlc addons, skins, and other stuff. Microsoft is really trying to milk profits from Minecraft with their own minecraft marketplace. Though I'm sure there is free, community made content available for Win 10. I'm not sure how mods and stuff work there, or if there even are mods. I doubt you can just fire up a special tekkit launcher and launch an entire modpack. Don't take my word for it, as I have no experience with bedrock as I use Win7.
Some of the blocks are slightly different between the editions, redstone is slightly different, mob spawning, commands, and other technical details. Not sure if there are functions and datapacks or not. I don't know too much about bedrock.
