Everyone knows the Mo'Creatures Mod, but it bothers me for one thing. Especially since 1.6, since the creatures of the Mod, began to add to Minecraft Vanilla. Now, in 1.12, many of the Mobs are already in the game, and in 1.13, some Mobs are also copied. This means that maybe the foxes, or other Mobs are added in the future. What do you think about this?
Mojang is free to add whatever they want to the game, but they have historically operated on a very thin amount of content. While they have specifically lifted certain mobs from Mo' Creatures (all of which Dr. Zhark gave permission to use), I really doubt any more will be added from that mod.
Even if Mojang adds features that another mod adds it does not mean that the mod itself no longer needs to add them; if I updated my own mod to the current version I would replace a lot of vanilla content with my own instead of adapting it to them; for example, my version of Mending directly replaces the pre-1.8 mechanic of renaming an item so you can repair it indefinitely, and likewise, the anvil mechanics would also need to be reverted for balance reasons (both because a repair cost of a couple levels for any item is way too cheap and vanilla's Mending lets you indefinitely maintain OP enchanted items with half a dozen or more enchantments; prior to 1.8 you had to pay not only for the actual amount of durability restored but the cost of every enchantment when repairing (currently only applied when combining), and yes, in my mod this includes Mending, which costs 8 levels, twice as much as it does in 1.9+). Even things that I did not outright replace, like husks and strays, I would modify them in some way (make husks and strays spawn underground).
(because of this, I also don't think it matters what version a mod is based on, especially one that makes such significant changes and additions as mine does)
Also, many of the other mobs "taken" from Mo Creatures do not even resemble the vanilla versions; for example, do these look alike?

Even horses no longer look the same since they changed their model.
In the 1.6, horses and skeleton horses were added, many years before the new change of horses. No, the Rabbits and the Bunnys are not the same, but the dolphins and some animals are the same

Again, this is not true; horses are the only mobs they directly took from Mo Creatures:
Completely different in their appearance (besides resembling a dolphin) and behavior (notably, you can tame and ride them, which Mojang rejected because of animal cruelty concerns), with their drops (fish) being most similar.
Likewise, in 1.8 Mojang made it so that caves can cut through the surface in deserts and other biomes with surface blocks other than dirt and grass - after I had added this feature in my own mod - but does that mean Mojang just took the idea from my mod? No, not at all; I've seen the code for 1.8 and it is entirely different (they extended the list of blocks that caves can remove while I just let them remove any block, excluding bedrock at y=0 by limiting their minimum altitude to y=1, and water with a separate check. The biggest similarity is that both replace sand above blocks that are removed with sandstone (later removed in vanilla) but even there I check for gravel as well and turn it into stone, or more recently, cobblestone). They've probably also added several bugfixes in a similar manner but that would simply be because I took the fixes from comments on their bug reports.
Put simply, if Mojang decides to add some feature there is bound to be at least one mod that added it before.
