Right now I've got a Minecraft server running on my PC that my friends are going to try to connect. If I moved my PC to another location, for example, back to my house instead of my apartment (I'm in college), would my server still work with the same world or would I have to create another server and start over?
I know I'd need to update the server with the new IP address and port forward on the router and the different location, but would my server still be the same and all that's been built in it?
I realize this is a strange question, but I would appreciate some feedback.
Hi jselph,
as ShelLuser said, it doesn't matter where you run your server, as long as you have port forwarded your server to the appropriate router your server will work just fine. Just make sure you give your friends the new IP address when you move it.
