For a long time, I've tried to make my underwater clear. I've tried numerous things, but there always the same blue fog in the distance. I've already changed underwater.png to a transparent image but it didn't really do much. Is there any way to get rid of this? Thanks!
(Please keep in mind that I'm pretty much new when it comes to editing texture packs and I'm using a Mac)
I think that blue fog is not an image so that cannot be changed without messing with some game script. There are probably mods out there that can get you the results you want.

Shaders do it, so I suppose it's not as simple as changing an image. You could install Optifine, which has a clear water setting. Another thing you can do, I suppose, is set up a command block to give you the blindness effect. I don't recall if vanilla has blindness, but recent modded versions I played that had a blindness effect included ended up turning the world perfectly bright and clear with that effect applied (whoops!).
