I've recently got back into minecraft and want to host a server, however i have no idea what to do. I was going to do a Skyblock server, however i don't know if that will even get players... I just want to see what the majority of players like and expect from a server!
The problem with servers today is they're all the same. It seems like every mini-game server has the same generic plugins and none of them are unique. So if you create a server, I'd strongly suggest to be unique and not another copycat. Unless you're super serious about trying to start a big mini-game style server or something, hiring a development team is probably out of the question unless you happen to have the capability of creating plugins. To answer your question though, I prefer vanilla survival.
Mutual monetizing is also a major uphill to climb especially following EULA orders. However once you find a mean to monetizing with your player base it will pays off literally. Whether if that keeping the LEDs flashing or getting the bread on your table.

I'm more into servers that have a modpack or a "custom" (I quote this due to the word being lost in the term of one of a kind) plugins that changes the game in many ways. Both (depends on what mods are being used) gives a sense of interest because you're not 100% sure what kind of things you'll see changed within the game.
But to stick with your poll I'd say Prison and Survival.

Hello All,

What would you personally like to see?
Thanks

I prefer Survival servers and sometimes Mini game servers.

I'd like to see a Mine-Z server become semi-popular again.
They're very dead now, unfortunately.

Still looking for ideas, sorting out the permissions on the server atm, still don't know what gamemode to go for, added a poll.
Also, anyone have any good names for a server? kinda need one, can't think of anything classic
