But if you already have the game cracked, why would you spend money just to get it legit? It'd be like buying a game on sale only to buy it again later to "support" the devs.

Distributing cracked copies of Minecraft is therefore a violation of the TOS and EULA, making it unscrupulous to download cracked Minecraft. And basically illegal, too. So don't do it, and don't encourage it.
Besides, cracked copies of Minecraft are inferior to premium, and sometimes dangerous too. Unlike a real copy of the game, there is no guarantee that you are downloading a safe product. A cracked copy, in addition to not letting you access multiplayer or have a custom skin, can be out-of-date, infected with a virus or malware, or glitched out. It's not reliable.

Actually, you can go to jail for pirating a game, even if it's a small game like an indie game, if you get caught, you go to jail.

It can be expensive for other countries. It took me 4000 pesos (Philippine Currency) to buy the game. It maybe expensive, but it's worth it for a lifetime though.

No such thing as premium Minecraft it doesn't exist. There is MC trial version, assuming that still exists, Minecraft full version and MC stolen version. There never has nor ever will be a premium version.
When you bought the game, your MC account will be premium, if your account is premium, you'll be able to access skin changing, realms, or even playing on the popular servers that we have today. If you'll just play the trial version, there's not much a lot of features than teaching you the basics of controlling, crafting, etc.

Using a game you didn't pay for is copyright infringement. It is illegal.
Paying for it and using a cracked version is also illegal under the DMCA.
