What is the maximum fall damage you can survive? I'm talking about with a god apple, resistance, diamond armor, max feather falling, and max protection. No hay-bales. I'm not sure if this is the right section.
First of all, the type of armor does not matter since armor has no effect on fall damage.
Assuming this is in Survival (so no Resistance 5, etc), the maximum damage reduction from enchantments is 80%, which can be achieved with Feather Falling IV and two pieces of Protection IV on as little as two pieces of any type of armor (including both FF and Prot on one piece), which will increase the survivable fall distance to 103 blocks (20 / (100% - 80%) + 3, where 20 is your health, 80% is the max damage reduction for enchantments, and 3 is the distance beyond which you receive fall damage. Note that due to rounding a fall of 23 blocks does not actually kill you with no protection even though the formula says it should, so I assume that you actually need 104 blocks to die).
The maximum level of Resistance in Survival is Resistance II from a beacon (enchanted golden apples give you Resistance I, which will be overridden), which reduces damage by an additional 40%; applying this to the above increases the maximum fall distance to 169 blocks (100 / (100% - 40%) + 3 = 169.666... rounded down. Note that the initial 3 blocks is still added afterwards since you get no damage before then).
A Notch apple gives you Absorption IV for an additional 16 health, increasing the distance survivable by 1.8 times (36 / 20) for a maximum survivable fall distance of about 303 blocks (again, adding 3 after the calculations).
In other words, you are immortal falling from any height achievable in Survival unless you fall into the void (which isn't actually fall damage) or use an Elytra and Punch bows to go well above the height limit.
Note that I assume that this is in 1.9 or later, since the maximum distance is far less in older versions, largely since enchantments reduce damage by a random amount (52-80% instead of a fixed 80%; this alone reduces the distance you are guaranteed to survive from 103 to 44 blocks) and golden apples only give you Absorption I; including Resistance II this only gets you up to 86 blocks minimum and 203 maximum.
If you include hay bales and Jump Boost II you can survive a fall of... 1505 blocks!
Somebody else did that calculation here, and measured the actual distances (hay bales reduce damage by 80% and Jump Boost II adds 2 to the distance you can fall before getting damaged; applied to my calculations this gives 300 / (100% - 80%) + 3 + 2 = 1505).
Of course, if you fall in water you can survive a fall from any height (prior to 1.9 or so you could even teleport yourself to an "infinite" height, although then you wouldn't fall).
