To whom it may concern,
First of all, hello! This is my first forum thread since I just registered a few minutes ago. I am also new to the shaders and high-end resource pack world since I just bought a new custom PC and thought I would test it out by playing around with high-end Minecraft stuff. So please, forgive me if the subject title is stupid.
Speaking of the subject title, that is what my question is about. You see, I tested out shaders and everything was going extremely well considering that I had an average of around 150 fps in-game with Sildur's Shaderpack. However, when I tested out a 512px Resource Pack, it barely reached 40 fps. With BOTH at the same time, the fps stumbled down to become under 10. Like I said, I am sorry if I asked something unbelievably stupid but I am just really curious what are the requirements of each (I mean for a 512px Resource Pack and both a 512px Resource Pack + Shaders at the same time) to reach over 60 fps. Thanks for all the help and sorry again if I'm asking something impossible! XD
(P.S. My video card is an EVGA GTX 1070 SC, my CPU is an Intel 6700 and I have 16GB of RAM in total, so you could compare the requirements with mine easily)

512px Resourcepacks eat away your CPU AND GPU faster than Shaders.Packing both together...well you saw for yourself.
I have never heard of anyone exceeding 30fps even with a beast setup,I personally get 15-18fps...I think its a hopeless situation,as you already have decent specs...
I uhm... Well, Shaders and 512x resource packs are both insanely heavy on GPU and CPU... But both? Pfft. Even the best computer out there will struggle...

Yeah, I expected that they wouldn't work well I only used that 512px resource pack to test out with the shaders at the same time to see where my PC stands and just to mess around. I was practically expecting that it would put my PC under heavy load. Then, I tried out the 512px only and I got curious, created an account, and asked here. So yeah, thanks a lot for the help!
(P.S. Oh yeah and umm, I'm sorry if what I asked was impossible like it turned out to be. Like I said, I'm new to this high-end stuff.)

Really?? Cool! How much fps can you get with the 512px resource pack? And remind me how much is the clock speed for the FX6300?

My fx 6300 and gtx760sc wont run shades but can handle 512x texture packs fine
