Choosing an FOV to play on is personal preference, but it can also depend on what minigame you play.
A higher FOV allows you to see more of your surroundings, which I personally find useful in face-to-face frenzy PVP. However the farther away you move from a point, the more blurry entities and terrain become, and they are considerably smaller and harder to spot, especially if you have a small monitor.
As for a lower FOV, you do get a larger target; however, you won't be able to see things coming from beside you.
Personally, I like to play on 85-100, which I change according to what minigame I play. For instance, I play gun servers on 95, as I can see more to the sides, which helps me see players before I get shot. Overall, I think the hardest part about choosing an FOV is determining the appropriate compromise between target size and limits to vision.
