So I have been reading the Minecraft EULA and was trying to think of donor benefits that were different than the normal name colors, etc. Based upon what I read in the EULA, what ever you give the donors must also be able to be used by non-donors and must not affect "gameplay". So since the server concept that I am developing is a Towny/Survival/Wilderness build server, what I had come up with are mainly quality of life benefits. As an example everyone has Backpacks via the plugin. Basic members get one backpack, donors get more. Everyone has one vault, donors get more.. These are the things I am thinking of.
So basically other than a "sub" Minecraft server or purely cosmetic items, there is no way to "monetize" a server now? I am not saying I want to make a million bucks, that's not my intent. I am very comfortable with my day job, but I would like to make enough for it to "pay for itself" and to continue to grow the server and also pay "commissioned" builders and staff for there time.

What is the communities thoughts on this?
The EULA Says no.
Backpacks allow, I'm assuming, users to carry more items than their inventory can, so more backpacks for donors changes their gameplay.
Vaults, I assume, protect items, and more vaults for donors = more protected items for them. Changes gameplay.
Both are disallowed.

How are "subscription" Minecraft servers viewed?
Is it about issues of the PermissionEx?
Or actually,MOJANG could cooperate to BuyCraft
So that servers have to pay tax when they sell a rank
