I'm kinda on and off when it comes to leaving the game, but I'll answer anyways.
Why did or are you leaving/left the game?
I've played my fill. Vanilla has zero appeal to me at this point, and I've built everything I want to build. I have to play huge modpacks to keep me interested in the game, and that's starting to get boring too.
How long have you been playing the game?
Since Beta 1.3_01. That's around the time the game really started getting popular initially, so I hopped on the bandwagon.

Why I have Left the Game?
Survival is boring (nothing to do, snapshots are buggy)Creative is empty for me and I have poor internet speed and signals (and so I don't play servers much)
I have been playing since 1.6.2 It wasn't that bad.
Off Topic:It made it's big boom when 1.7.2 came out I thought that (The update that Changed the world really does). In 1.8 well It was the time I was entering servers and calling up friends to play with me (now everybody likes Minecraft and I don't)

-Pixel Format Not Accelerated Problems in Windows 10 Reasons-
1.Old Intel CPU (2nd Gen and older) and these aren't ready for Windows 10.Please downgrade to an older version
2-Slow/Intel GPU (But sometimes Intel GPU just work fine from 3rd Gen CPU or newer on Win10)
3-Update Drivers (recommended for Dedicated GPU but not always for Intel's)
[This signature isn't to critisice Intel/Microsft or any thing of this sort, I am criticising You and You idiotness for not checking the requirements for Windows 10] (If you are annoyed of the ammount of the thread with a "Pixel Format Not accelerated" problem, plz Share this signature
I'm still playing it but I do find it is getting to be the same thing over and over. I know how to get to the point where the hostile mobs are - generally - no problem very quickly, which means there's nothing much to strive for.
I've tried playing hardcore but there's no point in building anything much cause you know you're going to die sometime.
I've played on many servers, sometimes several at once, and after a while you can't tell one from the other.
I've tried adding mods to the game but generally have not had much success with that.
I have been playing it just about a year now, and getting jaded.
I've been playing since beta 1.6, but only really dicked around back then with tnt and other crap. Never proper survival. I only started a proper survival world in 1.0.0. I had a lot of bloody fun with that map. I still have it. Unfortunately I got bored, and didn't think about the future, and used xray on that map. Ever since cheating on that survival, minecraft died for me inside. I hopped around from modpack to modpack, server to server - still playing - but feeling a bit empty on the inside.
I drifted further away until I had a mega nostalgia rush for the old days. I remembered how much I loved this game, so I decided to take it slowly, but start a survival world back in beta 1.6.6
I also went back into my old survival world (the one from 1.0.0) and cleaned up all the **** I had cheated in (got rid of about half my diamonds and other materials). I used a massive trees mod in that map, and cheated in some items and cheated myself to the end. I decided to delete my end dimension, and completely remove ever semblance of a mod or cheat from that map.
I actually feel really refreshed after doing that. I feel like i've righted a wrong that had been eating away at my minecraft experience for about three years now. I won't feel the same about MC, and definitely can't bring back the feeling of wonder that I used to feel towards the game, but now I just sort of feel at peace with myself. like If I wanted to quit MC, i'd quit it on a good note.
Sorry for the rambling. I just wanted to get that off my chest because I get quite emotional when thinking about my old survival gameplay. I shouldn't feel this way about a videogame, but I digress.
I have no idea what most people play, but Minecraft is revolutionary for it's creation ability. I never play survival mode because it gets boring after about 5 hours. The combat and story in Minecraft are terrible/non-existent. Yet for some reason survival mode gets way more attention in updates than creative stuff does. 1.9 is taking forever to come out, and it's still just some crappy indy game combat. NOT why I bought this game.
I'm still hanging on by a thread. I've mainly been doing servers, and I've attempted a 100% legit survival world but it's not appealing to me. Maybe once 1.9 is officially released I'll find more stuff to do with command blocks.
Here's a positive post, I'm coming back into it. I actually started playing the game when it was in alpha, and played up until release with some of my friends. These days most of my friends have moved on, which is sad, we used to play on the vanilla servers for hours and hours, we were there for the big Halloween update, which was awesome.
I am a little put off by the game by how much status it has gotten, for personal reasons. My nephew is into minecraft, and actually I'm partially responsible, as he watched over my shoulder while I was playing survival and entering an underground cave. He was terrified and captivated. Now he never stops talking about minecraft when I'm around, mercifully though he's learned not to nag me to play the game (because his parents caved and got him a copy for the iPad). I am however looking forward to the day when my nephew will finally get the real version of minecraft and be able to understand how to connect to a PC server.
That being said, if you have the imagination, minecraft holds pretty well. Usually I design a project before I play, or my own goal. If you don't have a goal in mind it really does get old quick. PC is great because you can switch between creative and survival at will. One building a day keeps boredom at bay.
Minecraft is certainly not the only game I play, but I'm so stressed these days that minecraft is just super, super, super, super relaxing to me and really makes me feel good because of it. I've got other games but they all come off as super high stress for me (monster hunter) or I've literally accomplished everything I could possibly due in the game (complete national pokédex anyone?).

First time I stopped playing was because my computer actually died, fixed another one only for it to actually implode (I still have no clue how it happened.)
Came back and enjoyed all the changes I missed got board (ran out of things to do.)
A smaller reason is because I don't fit in to any servers, at all.
This on might sound silly but the truth is the truth. I couldn't find a location to settle down that I really really like. If I don't like the location it's like forcing myself to play the game so I don't.
Finally I played since 1.7.3 (When piston were introduced) I played on a cracked version of the game during BETA but bought the game after the full version came out (At the time I loved the game and wanted to support it.)
I am trying to get back into the game but I doubt I will find what I'm looking for in locations.
Used to, but don't play very much anymore. Like trying out snapshots as they come, but they usually add content without changing or improving the core mechanics (combat update was a rare change). And when a mechanic is added, it generally doesn't pose any new challenges. The game gets larger, but most the the content and mechanics and be taken or left, with no effect on the player's success.
For example, there are a few dozen food types, but the player can get by by eating just one. There is no bonus or necessity to produce different foods. Also, food is everywhere from day one, invalidating the entire hunger mechanic's challenge. Perversely, the best food types (meats) are immediately available in great quantities, and the lowest quality food types require the most effort (farmed plants).
Breeding is a recent mechanic, but it has the same problem. Why breed animals when you can harvest far more by roaming the landscape and killing them? If animals didn't respawn forever, breeding would be a worthwhile feature.
Villagers are an interesting addition, and they have interesting behaviors, but their relevance to the player ended but being extremely simple. You grind items to trade, to get emeralds, to trade for enchanted items that would otherwise take a lot of levels to produce. Then once you've gotten all your ideal armor and weapons, the villagers don't hold any practical purpose. Unless you want to grind for emerald blocks to make a beacon.
Improvements to the monsters, and the AI have been nice. But it's still the same monsters that we've learned to dominate effortlessly.
I guess I'm holding out for something that will pose a challenge in survival.
If your on the edge of leaving mc or you have already I have a couple of questions....
Why did or are you leaving/left the game?
How long have you been playing the game?
Thank You For Your Time And Would Love Responces

Eh...I do it from time to time but not a lot.
Why did or are you leaving/leave the game?
I'm bored of it. Whenever I play survival, I can't help myself to use cheats.
How long have you played the game?
Beta 1.6

Why did or are you leaving/left the game?

Since 1.8 beta
Cool and thanks for taking your time to tell me this information! : )

Oh great, now I have to get a new computer.

More of a temporary leave, right now I mostly play servers with my friend every so often.
How long have you been playing the game?
Tried it in 1.0, left it for a bit, then came back in 1.5.
It should be noted I'm abandoning PC edition, and I'm moving to Windows 10 edition. (Although PC edition I will still use for multiplayer)
