I recently dug out a slime chunk. I waited for a while for a slime to spawn and finally a few spawned. So i decided to add three more levels and then make the actual farm. Ever since i added the levels no slimes have spawned on any level even though they had been spawning. I have an image below of the farm. I have lit up a few caves and have stood 24 blocks away for what seems like hours and still nothing spawned. My difficulty is locked to hard and I really need some help.
The pic shows nothing wrong with the build, so here are the possible causes:
1)you are standing too close to allow spawns to happen. Mobs do not at all spawn any closer to the player than 24 blocks away.
2)you are standing too far away to allow whatever spawned to wander around. Mobs will spawn out to 128 blocks away from the player, but after 32 blocks away they become inactive a few seconds after spawning and have a random chance to despawn. Beyond 128 blocks away, they will immediately despawn.
3)you built the farm in the wrong chunk. Slimes will, in general, only spawn in slime chunks, but that's only for the initial spawn. Each initial spawn attempt has a chance to become a pack spawn, and each successive individual beyond that first one in the pack can spawn up to 20 blocks away--if the first slime spawned right on the edge of the slime chunk, the others could spawn 2 chunks away where it's probably not a spawn chunk. It's your call if you want to dig out the extra area and incorporate it into your farm or fill it in, I don't think they'll spawn fast enough to really matter either way.
4)you did not light up enough of the surrounding caves, or slab any of the other potential slime chunks surrounding the farm, that are within 128 blocks of your AFK position. This means that the mob cap is getting filled up with mobs that are not in your trap. It is possible that you cannot even access the caves without mining throughout the area, and you'll have no idea those dark spaces are there if no mobs are there when you're close enough to hear. /gamemode 3 (spectator mode) can help you travel through the ground to find them, but you'll probably have to switch back to creative or survival to light them up (I don't use it myself so I don't know the particulars of how it works).

If the Wiki is to be trusted the requirement for it to be a slime chunk is tested for each individual spawn attemt, so they shouldn't be able to spawn outside a slime chunk. (also all spawning is supposed to be part of a pack spawn though it's possible for the pack to consist of only one member (ghasts always spawn as a one ghast "pack"))
However mobs can move outside the chunk the spawned in so that unless you saw them spawn or had completely blocked off any route from surrounding chunks it could be that the slimechunk is actually a neighbouring chunk.Otherwise nr 4 sounds like the most reasonable thing to check.

I have had a few spawns and have lit up a ton of caves but I will do that some more. I am getting a few spawns but id like the efficiency to be higher so i will do some more caving

Just testing.
What are the Y values of the spawning pads?
The first spawn pad is at Y=12 the last one is at Y=24
I see. I will check that out and make sure
