Fireworks. All they do is take up gun powder and paper and dye and whatever else you decide to add just so you can use them up after getting all those materials, yes they might be useful in creative maps or adventure maps but I assume that we are talking about useless items in survival. Seriously though, gold, lapis and emeralds are all pretty useful, chain armor could be another useless item except for the fact that it's an armor, it's way too difficult to get for something worse than iron.
Dirt is very useful though. It's required to grow most crops in the game, and is the only place where grass can grow so it's also the only source of seeds and flowers. An actual useless item would be like fireworks or wooden swords.

Timeless Modding is kinda dead but idk what to put here now
Poisonous potatoes can be useful for tricking your friends or giving yourself a poison effect for testing purposes, so technically they do have a USE... Even if it isn't useful at all times... Also, I don't see why people are saying Sand and Gravel are useless, they are used for making glass and flint and are used in a lot of redstone builds...
Exactly my thoughts. But sand is not renewable. I always feel awful whenever I spend a non renewable resource.
Well I mean I guess in real life it sort of isn't... But in Minecraft the world is infinite unless you use skyblock or something... Which in turn means infinite sand.
I'd say gravel is the most useless item in the game, since flint is made obsolete by skeletons and gravel by itself is only useful for pitfall traps. These traps don't tend to work for more than one update, even.
Air is obtainable. Once you spawn, you get an infinite supply of it. You cannot replace blocks with it Yes you can, it's called mining. but blocks can replace it. xD
The dandelion. It is a weed. It isn't very pretty. It gives yellow dye, but so does the sunflower.
Gravel, in my opinion.
Lapis and emeralds. You cant craft anything with them!
Aw come on, it's obviously the air block!

You can use lapis for:
Enchanting (you need it for enchanting)
Decoration (lapis blocks)
Dyeing (it's actually blue dye)
And emeralds for:
Villager trades (you can get some nifty stuff)
Decoration (emerald blocks)
Beacons (they're actually easy to get due to trades)
Srry
How would you get arrows without flint though?
Lapis used to be, but now you need it for enchanting so...
So.. How do I sign my device?
Havent played this game in 1 year... so much new stuff...

Why not TNT? I mean fireworks could be good for like a role play celebration after completing a large build but they don't directly help you.
I think wich noboby uses diamond hoe

PixelQuest 2, my new 1.10 RPG/rougelike-inspired modpack, is coming soon!
Definitely poisonous potatoes.

Haters gonna' hate, Potatoes gonna potate'
air basically counts as a block and at one point you could get the block into inventory.
Gifs are cool beans

You're all wrong! The most useless item is the uninteresting potion, of course!
Wait, uninteresting potion???
I nominate capes, because they are useless...lag makers!
