When looting didn't show as an enchantment for my diamond sword I put my iron sword on the table intending to put a low level enchantment on it and then try again with the diamond one. Just for fun I moused over the lv 30 enchantment for the iron sword and it read smite V so I decided to enchant the iron one instead. The iron sword wound up with smite V, looting III and knockback I which is good for hunting wither skeletons and all. But why does iron have a higher enchantability than diamond? I thought that diamond was supposed to be better than iron
I'd thought that diamond would have a good enchantability to go along with its durability and stuff. I guess from now on I'll be looking at what I'd get on iron gear at lvl 30 instead of picking the lowest levelled option right away
