Mojang Support @MojangSupport
@MushirMickeyJoe This is correct. ^OZ
So the rumors were right. The coder responsible for tinted glass, lighting bugs fixes, rabbits and many other thing fans were asking since forever is no longer a Mojang employee. It's unclear whether he's been fired or if he quit, but for sure the team has lost a big player and is, again, reduced to 3 full-time coders with only modding experience (Holtz had some actual experience in the professional gaming industry) and a leader which has to share his time between multiple projects.

He was a total jerk to the people on that server. No wonder he got fired.
That happened 1 year ago. If that was the reason for him being fired, why it took them so long? Also, nobody officially said he was fired, nor the reason why, so you're just making baseless assumptions.
I know this is old, but according to the Minecraft Wiki, he suffered from minor Autism, more specifically, what they use to call Asperger's syndrome but now the DSM-V refers to as Level 1. This often appears to others as just having low empathy skills and can often lead to social awkwardness and misplaced hostility such as this. I wish him luck, it's tough to live with a disability such as this. http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Ryan_Holtz
