you don't seem to understand that minecraft is a sandbox game. I can play however I want, I don't like building, if ender dragon and wither was removed, I wouldn't play singleplayer survival and I only play on creative for testing. I'd just play pvp or grief other people instead. it wouldn't change anything, it would only make things worse.
You would not being saying that if those "features" weren't added in the first place, as you probably wouldn't even play the game. The game has become to diverse and mixed, attempting to appeal to the masses who play consoles for the 'chieves' and nothing else. Mojang has forgotten Minecraft's original mission, that mission was: nothing, leave it to the player to build their own adventure. As Akynth pointed out, we can make our own server with our own rules. When a new player joins - ask their age, if they are under say, 14, ban them. Set up a system of Age Limit/Admin Surveillance, have staff monitor behavior and if it gets passed 3 strikes, ban without appeal. I don't want to seem cold or harsh, it's just the only way to accomplish a mature community. If a player has entitlement issues, tell them something short to the effect of "this isn't your world" and if they respond other than appropriately, use capital punishment: ban

I agree. This is why we got all these achievement hunters who can't build and do nothing to contribute to the community, who then come on here and gripe about how bad the community is or how boring the game is after they burn through what little content Minecraft has a few dozen times. What really annoys me is people who can't even build bragging that they're good at the game because they did things my 9 year old brother did with no problem. Us builders are few, far between, and being marginalized by all these dumb achievements that a blind, quadraplegic sloth with down syndrome could earn.

I feel like people need to return to the core of what made minecraft fun in the first-place: building!!!! I just returned to a HUGE project on my personal server and it is incredibly tedious... but fun. I feel like I have returned to what minecraft appealed to me in the first place.
On the community front, I love building statues and civilization with friends. I definitely agree that big public servers have lost that. Minecraft is not a game to make money off of. All of those who think they can are in the wrong place.
"marginalized by all these dumb achievements that a blind, quadraplegic sloth with down syndrome could earn."
Exactly, the game has been dumbed down to a level that is incomprehensible. These "WOW!" photos are the gold stickers these morons expect when they build a 4x4 dirt cube. There has to be a standard, a minimum amount of skill or intelligence set by each server, send admins around inspecting the map, even use an online map viewer! There has to be a crack-down on the garbage and the moronic numbskulls that find it an achievement to get stone tools. I am livid, as I am sick of immature little cry-babies ruining everything, especially a game that was designed and created to be for around 15+.
In an interview with Modojo, Jeb stated himself: "We usually design our games with ourselves as the target audience" clearly above the age of 15. Even if the game wasn't specifically made for the age group I said, it originally wasn't made for people under the age of 12. The game was too plain and open, it required too much imagination and maturity for younger children/teenagers.
Physically or mentally? I always say "The calendar can make me grow old, but it can't make me grow up."
You do have a point, 15+ mentally, I suppose. Someone like the majority of players around Alpha-Beta 1.4, the type who barely griefed, acted kind towards others, and wasn't going to rage quit after losing their precious iron pickaxe or leather boots.

I'm 13, and I don't rage over anything in-game, or troll.

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

You do realize that you still to this point have not made a logical argument. You continue to demoralize people who play Minecraft the way they want to play the game (as it was intended) because it's not the way you think people should play the game. Sorry but I didn't realize your name was Notch.

I do agree, the game was intended for anything, there is no 'set' way to play it. The only way you should play this game is your way. However, if it consists of prison, factions, or repetitive mini-games such as SkyWars, it may be the subject of criticism.
With the new EULA they pretty much removed pay2win servers. Servers are still able to charge money for things small things like cosmetics, but they can't charge you money for a god sword. At least that's how I think it works. Also, if you don't like immature players, I'd suggest joining a whitelist server that requires an application. They're generally more fun and you can play the game the way it was meant to be played with players who want to do the same.
@BewareTheShadow hahaha your funny. You really think because the new EULA servers have stopped selling items or that they are no longer pay2win. While some servers may have changed the way they do things there are still a lot of servers that haven't changed and they wont change until they are caught and forced to change.
@Brujenov Yea the point is there is no single way to play minecraft no matter what anyone person says unless it's Notch (even though he is no longer part of minecraft per say he is still the creator). I play minecraft in several different ways myself I love to build, I love the adventure of caving or exploring at night, I love seeing certain achievements when playing, I love fighting the enderdragon and withers, I love playing UHC and Hunger Games, I love playing parkour maps or doing a speed run parkour. So per certain people I am part of the community that's ruining minecraft when I see myself as a person that just loves to play minecraft.
Also, if you don't like immature players, I'd suggest joining a whitelist server that requires an application. \
I did just that, and was even made an admin on the server I'm on because of my awesome builds. The problem though is that even though it's a 16+ whitelist server nearly everyone who joined pretty much rushed to try and get achievements, then got bored and left. Barely any of them even built a decent looking home. They put up cobble/dirt boxes or made holes in the ground, mostly. So now the server is pretty much dead with a bunch of ugly homes everywhere. I guess I will have to recruit for my kingdom and specifically only accept players who can post screenshots of their awesome medieval builds. We tried the whole "Freedom" thing letting people play however they want, because our server is literally called the Freedom Society, but it hasn't worked out so well for us. The community became stale/stagnate because everyone was isolated in their little hobbit holes and dirt houses thousands of blocks from each other.
This is partly why I gripe a lot about these achievement hunters who get on multiplayer servers and play like it's a single player game. Anyone with half a brain can see why that play style in overwhelming numbers has damaged the community. If you want a nice community in Minecraft, you need players who will build nice things and actually communicate with each other. This is why I think the only achievement possible in Minecraft should be building something nice. We got too many players who can't build, refuse to learn how to build, and won't even try to make a nice house, all because they got some shiny achievement that inflated their ego to the point where they think they're too good to have to contribute anything meaningful to the community.

This. This is why I've made a maturity test with my fellow staff members to ensure that players aren't imbeciles, if they fail, they are banned. No loopholes, exceptions, or appeals - even to the plsplsplsplspls people. They're asked simple questions, ones that reflect upon some of the biggest trends, like *gag* .. 9+10 ..*cough* *cough* -so, even if you pass the test and act in a suspicious manner, you get questioned by staff on whether or not you really are mature. Because of this, I have a loyal playerbase which enjoys the server and comes to see it grow, we play each night and have all sorts of inclusive events without the distractions of trolls.
add me on ps3 my psn is camlfc11 once you add me i can play on your world
Here is a prime example of the type of people ruining not only the minecraft community but the entire gaming community. We have a serious conversation going about something we all consider important and this noob comes in here all like "add me" I want to be your friend and play your map instead of posting something on topic but at least he has made some of our points posted in this thread.
I never understood the achievement hunting aspect that is literally in games now a days, as I tend to creatively make my own. Which in essence is my own goals and the like.
Granted the only multiplayer experience I am accustom to is the xbox or console experience, it is not what drives me though. I have an overactive imagination that I have kept from my childhood, and quite easily entertained. The only pc server I have ever been on was a private one, and wasn't a pleasant one. More like a boring one, as I was trolled with god abilities. I do take in effect that that is not all servers out there, and not the bulk of players. After all I have played with a variety of them on the consoles.
Not all console players take to the gun-ho attitude and have an immense tolerance. I don't mind the gun-ho attitude, as I play with a few that have in mind. In a way the pc is similar to the console in populous; in that you get a varied crowd. That much I grew up with all around me, even before games themselves became mainstream.
I personally enjoy the building aspect, and what draws me in. I guess I just have a pretty good tolerance to certain acts of trolling. At least what it use to mean. Now even that term is diverse as the people whom do. Fun is subjective, but I always find fun due to myself being self entertained throughout my life.
I find that even though there are many that are not builders, that some among those do find the interest; even if it is copy/paste. I mean that is how I initially started long ago with drawing pictures. At least when it was drawing people. However I did have things I would draw without that copy/paste. Then eventually learned to modify existing things. In minecraft that is how I somewhat started. I didn't exactly copy/paste designs, but did reference, and then proceeded to modify till I would get inspiration to do one from scratch. My walls that I build did originate from Maddnes64, albeit a little modified.
However since then I managed to create my own in test worlds comparing and contrasting. Then eventually started from scratch to build a few styles. Still I mostly tend to a particular style of look, but it is my own. So in hindsight I managed to develop my own way of going about things.
For many they are still trying to figure that sort of thing out, and still learning what they actually want. Maturity is something subjective and personalized to each individual. It is just like many of the lingo now a days that seem to form trends, in which even in my youth I never truly followed. I personally held my own path.
So really like akinth mentions in short, it is up to the individual to decide whom they want to allow. But doing it in a registration approach to get the ones that will eventually stay and want to be part of a community. Each individual has their own strengths and weakness, good & bad, etc.
There is no perfect, but one could aim to have in the very least a working group of people.:)

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Stop thinking that you are above other people because your interests differ from them. I'm disgusted by some people's attitudes here.
WuHsin, what if I told you to make a minigame using vanilla commands? I'm not sure if you are good at it or not, but if you weren't, do you think that would be fair for me to say, "Us redstoners are few, far between, and being marginalized by all these dumb builds that a blind, quadraplegic sloth with down syndrome could build?" That's not fair, and extremely rude.
Also, never use a disability as an insult. It's insensitive and callous.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.

I didn't say ALL people under 15 were immature, just a large majority.
The fact that there's an achievement for punching a log is just despicable.
