Every time I try to play a world on single player, it takes a few minutes to load and everything seems fine until it gets to the screen that says "downloading terrain". Then it just seems to stop loading. It either doesn't do anything, or it takes about ten minutes to change. Then I find myself falling through an abyss, for another 5 minutes, unable to do anything at all. Once this stops, I am in a normal world. Another point that becomes apparent now is that no seeds seem to work. When moving around, everything is extremely laggy and the screen frequently glitches and freezes up, and after a few chunks, the chunks simply stop loading and nothing works. If I type a command in chat it takes several minutes to appear. Eventually nothing works at all and I invariably just have to force quit minecraft. This is really hellish because I'm just trying to have a fairly simple and enjoyable time building something, and I instead end up extremely frustrated. Multiplayer works perfectly fine and doesn't seem to have any of these issues. Whats the problem? I am on 1.8, playing vanilla. Someone please help me fix this it's ruining my day.
Um.. I'm not really knowledgeable about this sorta thing, so feel free to ignore me if you wish. I'll still attempt to offer help however.
Go to your .minecraft folder (I assume you know where that is?) and copy your "saves" folder to somewhere on your Desktop, and anything else you wish to backup, then delete the .Minecraft folder, and let the launcher remake it. Then try out a new world on the fresh files, and see if it works.
If that doesn't work.. then I'm at a loss for what else to do. =/ I wish you luck on finding a solution.
