If you don't know what Metallurgy 4 is, it's a mod that adds dozens of ores into the game. It's a remarkable mod in my opinion(I have downloaded it) because of how much it expands Minecraft.
Looking at the mod features besides a few new machines or items made by the ores (which could be implemented without 30+ new ores) most of it is just reskins of existing items with tweaked stats.

True, but if it does become supported, Microsoft or Shadowclaimer(creator of the mod) could change the texture to make each single ore unique.
