My first ever build was in creative. It was pretty awesome and I named it "The Wither Slayer Farm". I used it for killing withers. When I was in Survival Mode, the silly Wither can't even hurt me(When I used my bow with flame I,it reflected it at my face and lit me on fire!).

My first build was a certain body part I wont mention made of gold blocks.

I made my first home in July 2011 (Beta 1.7.3), and it was simply a cliffside home with multiple floors, next to a giant land arch. Outside there was a fishing lake, nether portal, and a wheat farm (wheat was the only crop then). On the inside, the enterance led to a room with a fireplace, furnaces, and the enterance to the mine, and on the second floor, there was my bedroom and storage area. There was a ladder that went up to the top of the cliff and had a little hut that functioned as a watch tower for anything below the cliff.

I dug into a hillside and set myself up a little base inside it. Then I dug up out the top of the hill and built a stone tower, then greatly expanded it into a rather big-but-boring castle.

My first world I started on a beach. I knew nothing. I built a roofless house out of sand to hide from mobs. I didn't understand that all blocks don't fall like that. I died because I didn't know how to eat. My fourth world, much later, I made my first attempt to actually build something just because it would be cool and pretty: a greenhouse floating above a lake at a triple point between tundra, swamp, and hills biomes.

Believe it or not but my first build was in 1.7.3 beta and it was a 2 floor house with many rooms and a huge moat that was 2 blocks wide and 3 blocks deep filled with lava. I also built a statue of myself, another huge furnace house a huge farm, a a pool, a fountain, a couple of midget houses for some random sheep, a castle and a house atop of a little hill that I built in hopes of someone joining my world... I was very lonely in that world...... It was my first world and my little moat house was my first build ever...

how I did it is watching 500 videos of minecraft and looking at the wiki before buying it.

Mine was a fortress built into a mountain, I figured something on a large scale would help me learn how to build quickly.

My first major building was a castle, however my first creation was on the XBOX platform, which is inferior to the PC version. Now I solely play on the PC version. My next big project is opening a community guided realm, which anyone (up to a count) can join.

This first survival thing for me was a underground house, with a mine. In creative I built a largish castle.

A 30x30 wall of stone with "I LOVE YOU BABE" spelled out in torches for my wife's birthday.

This was before I knew about Creative, Peaceful, or shift to keep from falling off of blocks. Plus this was Alpha before we had beds to set your spawn. Once the wall was built, I built a viewing platform so we could stand there and look at it without mobs trying to kill us.
